00:00This poster child of terrorist organization RSS continues to employ state-sponsored terrorism
00:05to disseminate its own minorities and brutally suppress the Kashmiri people in pursuance
00:09of a new fascist Hindutva project.
00:12They say in Imran Khan's Naya Pakistan, you may not return home.
00:17Targeting of journalists through threats, assaults, arrests, instilling extreme fear
00:21and self-censorship exposes the fallacy of Pakistan's so-called military-run democratic
00:27system.
00:29It will be better for Pakistan to set its own house in order before it speaks about
00:33others.
00:49We are once again disappointed to see that India continues to mislead this council about
00:54its despicable human rights crimes and Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir pertaining
00:59to arbitrary detention and enforced disappearance through peddling fabricated narratives and
01:04falsifying facts.
01:05Mr. Vice President, yet again, though we are not surprised, Pakistan has twice chosen to
01:11divert the attention of the council with its imposterous political propaganda full of disinformation
01:18and gratuitous references about India's internal matters today.
01:22It will be better for Pakistan to set its own house in order before it speaks about
01:27others.
01:28Pakistan's intervention in the two IODs today were based on actual events reported from
01:33India-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
01:35The UN Security Council has thrice met to discuss the dire post-5 August situation in
01:40occupied territory, which clearly debunks India's self-serving claims of normalcy and
01:45Kashmir being an integral part.
01:48They say in Imran Khan's Naya Pakistan, you may not return home.
01:52Mr. Vice President, let me turn to Pakistan.
01:55Occupied parts of Indian Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, cases of
02:00enforced disappearances, murders, detentions, custodial deaths and torture of civil rights
02:05activists, representatives of local political parties and journalists are common and a standard
02:09practice adopted to silence voices against the government and deep state in Jiljit Baltistan.
02:16Spreading falsehoods against my country may help the Hindutva zealots win elections, but
02:21will not surely help them win respect in the global community.
02:26The Prime Minister of today's illiberal and intolerant India has been implicated by his
02:30country's own Supreme Court for targeting killings of Muslims in Gujarat in 2002, and
02:36was until recently barred from entry into certain countries on account of his direct
02:40role in masterminding the Gujarat programme.
02:44This poster child of terrorist organisation RSS continues to employ state-sponsored terrorism
02:49to disseminate its own minorities and brutally suppress the Kashmiri people in pursuance
02:53of a new fascist Hindutva project.
02:56Mr. Vice President, just 12 days ago, the Oath CHR in its press briefing expressed serious
03:02concern about the numerous instances of incitement to violence, online and offline, against journalists
03:08and human rights defenders in Pakistan, in particular against women and minorities, especially
03:13worrying accusations of blasphemy, which can put accused individuals at imminent risk
03:19of violence.
03:20A week before that, the special procedures of the HRC had called on the Pakistani authorities
03:26to end the secret detention of human rights defender Idris Khattak, whose whereabouts
03:31are not known for more than nine months.
03:34Talia, the 20-year-old daughter of Idris Khattak, is still waiting for a fair trial for her
03:40father.
03:41Recently, we saw Marvis Sirmad, a women journalist and human rights defender, receiving highly
03:46derogatory and violent messages on social media.
03:49Journalists Ahmed Noorani and Gul Bukhari and their families have been receiving death
03:53threats daily and live in an atmosphere of constant fear and terror.
03:58Speaking of victims of terrorism, let me remind the Indian delegation of people.
04:03Such 45-year-old Konsar Sufi, who was shot dead by Indian forces last week before her
04:08own son in Srinagar, or of nine-year-old Sahil Ahmed Sheikh, who was among the unfortunate
04:14144 minors detained in wake of India's illegal actions of last August.
04:20The Indian representative could have spoken about the agony of hundreds of Kashmiri people,
04:25whose homes were razed down during fake search and garrison operations, and who were left
04:31without a shelter as they fight the deadly Covid virus in an even deadlier occupying
04:36power.
04:37Last week, we saw serious concerns being expressed in this room at the large number of enforced
04:42disappearances in Pakistan.
04:46Human rights defenders in Pakistan are being silenced every day through intimidation, secret
04:51detention, torture and enforced disappearances with the direct involvement of the Pakistani
04:56government.
04:57The Indian representative could have also appraised the council about steps taken to
05:01hold the instigators of the Delhi pogrom accountable but instead choose to maintain a deafening
05:06silence.
05:07Mr. Vice President, Indian delegations' drivel against my country can neither change these
05:13well-documented facts nor silence the strong voices of concern being raised by global human
05:19rights constituencies about such atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
05:24And if India wants another impartial evaluation of the situation in the occupied territory,
05:30it should immediately give unhindered access to global media, civil society, OHCHR and
05:35SP, MSN to JNK.
05:40Abductions continue often of not only journalists and human rights defenders, but also of underaged
05:47Hindu and Christian girls.
05:49Law enforcement agencies in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh have been given a free
05:53hand and are authorised to arbitrarily detain any person, including those below the age
05:58of 18 years.
05:59Cries of Baloch sister Hasiba Kambrani for her brothers Hassan and Ismullah Kambrani,
06:05who have been forcibly taken away by the Pakistani military, go unheard.
06:10This Mr. Vice President, is the plight of daughters, sisters and mothers in Pakistan.
