00:00We're extremely disappointed. It's been three and a half years of planning.
00:04We've put proposals to government. The facility under the last government was approved.
00:08It was out to tender and it came out of the blue yesterday, completely devastated.
00:12We're expecting a legacy facility for the sport of gymnastics in Queensland.
00:18It's a key Olympic sport. It's a sport that has over 58,000 members, 123 clubs.
00:24We're one of the largest sports. We've got more members than netball Queensland.
00:28We're expecting a legacy to assist us to grow and develop the sport.
00:32We put a proposal to the 100-day review panel in regards to the Chandler Indoor Sports Centre,
00:38a dedicated gymnastics facility and a dedicated basketball facility.
00:41That proposal included 2,500 square metres of gymnastics space.
00:46It was a cost-positive project for the government.
00:50That's what we put forward and that's what we're expecting in the announcement yesterday.
00:55There was no mention of gymnastics in the proposal.
00:59The roof leaks. It's aged. It was built in 1989.
01:03We're unsure. We've got a national trampoline program running out of here.
01:06We have clubs that operate out of here. We're unsure of the future.
01:09We're trying to develop athletes for 2028 and also through to 2032 and we don't have any answers.
