00:00National Security Council Assistant Director General Jonathan Malaya
00:05announced that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will not dismiss
00:08the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict or NTF-LCAC.
00:13This is in response to the call of Gabriela Partilidz Representative Arlene Brosas
00:18to remove the NTF-LCAC.
00:20According to Malaya, the President ordered them to continue the good start in fighting terrorism.
00:28She also emphasized that the strength of the left-wing group is weakening
00:33due to the death of some leaders of the Communist Party of the Philippines,
00:37New People's Army or CPP-NPA, and the continuation of localized peace engagement.
00:43As of now, there are only more than 1,000 members of the left-wing group
00:47living in some parts of the country and a guerrilla front.
00:50Meanwhile, Malaya assured that the NPAs will not be disturbed
00:55by the upcoming elections in May.
