00:00If you often withdraw money from the ATM, then this news is important for you.
00:10If you use the ATM again and again, then be alert because you may have to pay more charges from May 1, 2025.
00:18What is the full detail? Let's know in the video.
00:20So from May 1, 2025, you will have to pay more charges for transactioning more than the free limit.
00:27The Reserve Bank has decided to increase the ATM Interchange Fee.
00:31With this, withdrawing cash from the ATM will become expensive from May 1, 2025.
00:35This decision has been taken considering the increasing operation cost of the ATM.
00:39Now let's know what is ATM Interchange Fee?
00:43ATM Interchange Fee is the charge that a bank gives to another bank in return for using its ATM.
00:50If a customer withdraws money from another bank's ATM instead of his bank, then his bank pays this charge to another bank.
00:57Usually, bank charges are collected from customers, especially when they cross the limit of their free transaction.
01:04Suppose your debit card is from SBI and you are withdrawing money from HDFC's ATM.
01:09In this case, your SBI bank will give money to HDFC and this money will be collected from you.
01:17How much has the charge increased?
01:19According to the rules of RBI, withdrawing cash from the ATM from May 1, 2025 and other unknown transactions will become expensive.
01:26The fee to withdraw cash will be more than Rs. 17 and will be Rs. 19 per transaction.
01:30Unknown transactions such as checking the balance, checking the mini-statement will be more than Rs. 6 and will be Rs. 7 per transaction.
01:38Now let's know what is the limit of free ATM transaction?
01:41According to the rules of RBI, every month, customers can withdraw money from the ATM without any extra charge.
01:48In metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore, only 3 free transactions can be made from the ATM of another bank, including financial and non-financial.
01:58And if we talk about other places, there are 5 free transactions in other places, i.e. 5 free transactions in tier 1 and tier 2 cities apart from metro cities.
02:08If you use the ATM more than this limit, then you will have to pay a higher fee.
02:13Many times, due to technical failure, network failure, or the absence of cash in the ATM, the transaction fails.
02:19With this, the customers are unsatisfied that will there be a charge on these unsuccessful transactions?
02:24So RBI has clarified that no extra charge will be taken on the transaction that has failed due to technical reasons.
02:31Well, after increasing the ATM charge, you will get a boost in digital banking.
02:35UPI, mobile banking, internet banking, and WhatsApp banking can be easily transacted by customers through these facilities.
02:42And you can reduce the dependency on the ATM.
02:45Not only will money be saved through digital payment, but your time will also be saved.
02:50So in this, changes are going to happen.
02:52You have to be alert that if you do transactions from other ATMs again and again,
02:58if you exceed your limit, then you will have to pay a higher charge.
