Arrah (Bihar): A tragic shooting at Ara railway station in Bihar on Tuesday evening claimed the lives of a 16-year-old girl, her father, and the assailant, who died by suicide after carrying out the attack.
The incident occurred on the footbridge connecting platforms 2 and 3. According to police sources, the shooter, identified as 24-year-old Aman Kumar, opened fire on Jiya Kumari and her father, Anil Sinha, before turning the gun on himself. All three succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Authorities are probing the motive behind the attack, with Bhojpur district Superintendent of Police Raj stating that forensic experts have been deployed to examine the crime scene. The police have registered a case and are questioning witnesses to piece together the sequence of events.
Additional Superintendent of Police Parichay Kumar confirmed that the shooting took place on the overbridge between platforms 3 and 4. Meanwhile, RPF Senior Commandant Prakash Panda stated that Aman Kumar was a resident of Bhojpur and that the weapon used in the attack has been seized.
