00:00We just received news that Senate President Cheese Escudero refused the House of Prosecutors' request for Vice President Sara Duterte to respond to the articles of impeachment against her.
00:13In a media forum this morning, Escudero stated that she can only send summons or comment on the visit if the impeachment court has already been convened,
00:22which can only be done if the Senate has a session. The Congress is still on break until June 1.
00:29In the motion that was submitted by some House Prosecutors yesterday, they stated that the hearing should start immediately because of the word forthwith in the Constitution.
00:37But for Escudero, what this word means is a reasonable period of time.
00:45On page 2 of the very motion they filed, they quoted the rules of the Senate that said,
00:52after the presentation of the articles of impeachment and once the court is convened, the writ of summons shall be issued.
01:03They even noted it.
01:05So my question is, have they already presented the articles of impeachment in plenary? Has the court been convened?
