Mom Donates Milk to Babies in Need

00:00I'm pumping and I've got my large bottles on right now.

00:05I just drank this huge mason jar of water and this is what pumping looks like for me.

00:21I know some people might find it weird and some people even say it's gross,

00:26but there are people out there who really need it and they're willing to accept it.

00:39I didn't really know it was a thing and I didn't know that people were willing to accept breast milk from somebody else.

00:45It's really not a disease of any kind.

00:55It's really just the technical term of producing more milk than a baby needs.

01:01There's no medication you need for it or anything like that.

01:08I guess it depends how much a baby eats, but in the beginning a newborn's maybe taking an ounce or two.

01:14At that point I could maybe feed ten babies at that age.

01:22I give myself one five-hour stretch at night.

01:25So I sleep five hours and that's the longest that I could go without pumping.

01:34It goes through testing, pasteurization, that sort of thing.

01:38And then it's fortified with all the right nutrients and vitamins that are needed for babies who are born prematurely.

01:51There's different Facebook groups or just friends of friends that I know who have a baby in need or babies.

01:57So I've donated to different pairs of twins.

02:00I really enjoy donating to those especially in medical need.
