00:00I was watching the news and saw coverage of the families being separated and I
00:13knew we had to do something.
00:23LipSlut gives 50% to charity and is 100% against tyranny. The goal of LipSlut
00:28is to make giving in philanthropy and making your voice heard more accessible
00:33to more people. As I was watching Trump's inauguration in my dorm I was talking
00:38with my friends about what we could do to help and we ended up talking about
00:42this idea for LipSlut and a couple days later we started working on it. This is a
00:47personal issue for me because I also wanted to donate and I felt uncomfortable
00:53donating but I still spent money on makeup. The average woman spends about
00:57$15,000 on makeup in her lifetime and I think this gives them an avenue to help.
01:02F*** Trump, which is our first product and our main product, donates to
01:07organizations that Trump is threatening to defund. We have a list of about nine
01:11different charities. Last year Planned Parenthood won so we donated $40,000
01:15to them last year.
01:17One of the most important things that's come out of LipSlut is learning that
01:28small differences definitely add up. One person buying a lipstick can turn into
01:32LipSlut raising over $200,000 for charity. Charity and giving is always
01:36going to remain our main mission.
01:39The process of starting it was kind of crazy. The hardest part was just telling
01:49myself I can do it. It might seem scary or hard at first but if you want to make
01:55a difference you really can.
