00:00Good morning, everybody in Hollywood! How we doing?
00:05I am truly honored to be here today. Thank you for having me.
00:09First, let's give a big shout out to all the fans who are gathered here.
00:14And fans also watching around the world via our stream presented by our media partner, Variety.

00:25Thank you also to Capitol Records for helping us out today as we stand right next to the historic Capitol Records building.
00:32The Hollywood Walk of Fame recognizes achievement in the categories of motion pictures, radio, live theater, live performance, sports entertainment, recording, and television.
00:42And today, in the category of recording, we honor Tricia Yearwood!
00:47Tricia will be star number 2,805 here on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
00:57Now before we invite Tricia up to the stage, let me tell you a little more about our honoree.
01:02With over three decades in the spotlight, multiple Grammy, CMA, and ACM awards, and millions of albums sold,
01:10Tricia Yearwood remains a powerhouse in country music.
01:13The iconic singer, actress, author, chef, and entrepreneur continues to captivate audiences with her signature vocals and heartfelt storytelling.
01:22A revered figure in country music, Tricia has been honored with inductions into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame there, as well as the Grand Ole Opry,
01:31along with prestigious awards such as the ACM Honors Icon Award and CMT's June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award.
01:40Raised in Monticello, Georgia, Tricia drew inspiration from legends like Patsy Cline and Linda Ronstadt.
01:54She pursued a degree in music business at Belmont University in Nashville, gaining industry experience as an intern at MTM Records before making her mark as a session singer.
02:16Her self-titled 1991 debut album made history when she's in love with a boy.
02:23It became Tricia's first debut single, and the first debut single by a female artist to hit number one on the charts.
02:32I remember, and it's one of those I like to call stop you in your tracks sort of songs, you remember exactly where you were when you hear and heard that song the first time.
02:43Turns out I was also in love with the boy back then, but that's another story for another day.
02:48She went on to follow up she's in love with the boy with a string of platinum and gold albums featuring timeless hits like Walk Away Joe, X's and O's, and American Girl, and of course How Do I Live.
03:04With 15 studio albums and over 15 million records sold, Tricia's blend of country and contemporary sounds has solidified her legacy.
03:13Her accolades include multiple CMA Female Vocalist of the Year awards and Grammy winning collaborations, including In Another's Eyes with Garth Brooks.
03:24In 2019, she released Every Girl, her first full-length country album in over a decade, followed by Every Girl Deluxe featuring an acoustic version of She's in Love with the Boy.
03:35In 2021, the song made history as the most listened to country song by a female artist in the history of Billboard's country airplay charts.
03:44For the first time in her career, Tricia is set to release a brand new album where she co-wrote every song.
03:53Ushering in a new chapter as a singer-songwriter, the first single, Put It in a Song, was hailed by Rolling Stone as an instant classic.
04:02Fans can experience the new music live on her upcoming Seven City Theater Tour, running from April 30th to May 17th, where she will blend new songs with timeless favorites.
04:13Also playing, of course, at the historic Troubadour tonight, and I can't wait to hear it.

04:21Beyond music, Tricia is a New York Times best-selling author of four cookbooks celebrating her Southern roots.
04:29Her Emmy Award-winning Food Network series, Tricia's Southern Kitchen, is a huge hit with food lovers everywhere.
04:35In 2023, she co-opened Friends in Low Places, a major Nashville honky-tonk with a menu curated by Tricia herself.
04:46Everything's yummy there, by the way. I've tried it all.
04:49Tricia is deeply committed to philanthropy as well, actively supporting Habitat for Humanity, breast cancer research, and disaster relief efforts as well.
05:01In 2021, she founded Dottie's Yard, a charity supporting animal shelters across all 50 states, named after her beloved dog, Dottie.
