00:00When I think about the show, I do say it's not like looking through your Nana's stuffy
00:09china cabinet. Many people will be aware of the blue and white jasperware. I think that's
00:15the most sort of famous, well known of Wedgwood pieces. We are showing over 200 years of Wedgwood
00:24ceramics right up until 2023. And if you look at some of the things that they're doing currently,
00:30it's very sexy, very contemporary, working with a lot of contemporary artists.
00:33In 1769, Wedgwood opened his new ornamental works at Etruria, an event that was celebrated
00:42by Josiah Wedgwood personally, throwing six first days vases on the wheel, with his partner
00:49Thomas Bentley turning the handle. Four emerged from the kiln, and three are still in North
00:56Staffordshire today, one of which will be included in the touring exhibition, Wedgwood
01:01Artists and Industry. We're really excited that this exhibition features so many of the
01:05extraordinary highlights from the Wedgwood collections at the V&A.
