00:00Meanwhile, some experts believe that former President Rodrigo Duterte will have a hard time getting an interim release from the ICC.
00:09Meanwhile, I have another question that we should look forward to if the former President will continue to do so.
00:15The center of the news from Quezbel, Custodio.
00:20Former President Rodrigo Duterte has a low chance of returning to the Philippines.
00:25According to the lawyers who attended a press conference in the Netherlands with several civic organizations based in Europe.
00:33According to Atty. Cristina Conte of the National Unions for People's Lawyers and Assistant Counsel to the victims of the war against drugs of the former President Duterte,
00:42minor crimes such as offenses against the Administration of Justice are the cases that could be granted an interim release.
00:50Crimes against humanity, crimes of aggression, genocide and war crimes, no interim release has been granted by the court for any of those accused of these crimes.
01:04So, from my point of view, there is zero probability that Sara Duterte or the Duterte camp could bring home Duterte by May 2025.
01:15The Center for International Law Philippines also believes that the ICC will not grant an interim release if the former President Duterte will return to the Philippines.
01:25Because the conditions for actually granting it are not clear.
01:30There are still serious security concerns for the victims, for the potential witnesses.
01:36In fact, we have seen that online and in person.
01:41Secondly, Mr. Duterte, as stated in the arrest warrant, is still a very influential man.
01:47It is possible that the former President's account could be freezed through the Anti-Money Laundering Council.
01:53Another thing to watch out for is if the former President's camp will use the grounds to exclude criminal responsibility.
02:00He has to tell the court right now by April 11 if he intends to evoke insanity, incapacity, self-preservation, duress, alibi and the like.
02:12Duterte should submit this before the confirmation of charges on September 23.
