00:12Comelec is also about to end its preparations for the 2025 midterm elections.

00:23On Friday, the campaign for the local opposition candidates

00:28for the 2025 midterm elections will be held.

00:31That's why the Commission on Elections is on the left and right.

00:35To remind the candidates,

00:37after March 28,

00:39they are no longer allowed to see anyone giving aid or even giving money.

00:44Sometimes, there are videos spreading on social media

00:48where a politician is asking for money in an event.

00:52Comelec said,

00:55If there is such a thing, don't be afraid to file a complaint or file a case.

01:00I hope someone will file a case if we see something like that.

01:03Let's try.

01:04Comelec will not allow people to make decisions.

01:07That means, that's the reality.

01:09That's right.

01:10But we believe that times are changing.

01:13That's why, don't be afraid.

01:15If there are already violations in our morality and in our sense of fairness,

01:23Comelec will accept all of these cases.

01:25The Commission also said,

01:27it's not only the issue of vote-buying that is being discussed here,

01:30but also the proper behavior of a candidate.

01:33Voters should be the ones to choose who they will vote for.

01:38I hope our fellow countrymen will see

01:41those kinds of people who are putting our humanity at risk because we are poor.

01:47Do you think that they will suddenly give you money?

01:52Because the campaign of the local candidates is near,

01:55security in the checkpoints is expected to be tightened,

01:59as well as the implementation of the gun ban.

02:01According to Comelec and the Philippine National Police,

02:04there are already 1,814 incidents of gun ban.

02:091,910 have been confiscated and 1,851 have been arrested.

02:15The majority of them are civilians.

02:19Comelec will continue to remind us to follow up

02:21because this is part of the work of the authorities

02:24to avoid election-related violence in the country.

02:27Meanwhile, if the preparations for the local campaign are successful,

02:31the poll body will finish the preparations for the midterm elections.

02:36For now, 90-95% of them are ready for the elections.

02:40Verification is being done on the ballots

02:43and training is being done on how to use automated counting machines in the elections.
