00:00Bags and shoes business is one of the hot topics in the market right now

00:05because who doesn't want to invest in quality and stylish items, right?

00:10From trendy handbags to elegant footwear,

00:14you can easily offer products that suit the lifestyle budget of your customers.

00:20How? That's what we'll talk about today with Dayan Medina Ilustre.

00:26Let's talk about business.

00:31It really started with Sir Albert and the family business.

00:35They had this footwear material business and he was still a student back then

00:40and he was already helping in the operations of the business.

00:44And then as time went by, he got really curious about how things are done

00:48so he started to talk to shoppers and marikinas and then learned a lot from there.

00:53And then so he built also a lot of relationships.

00:56And then when he graduated, he and his wife actually came upon a small retail shop.

01:02During the pandemic, the business industry really hit.

01:06So how did you stay afloat? Are there any struggles and challenges?

01:10Being a brand or a business of 35 years, of course, it had its own challenges, ups and downs,

01:17not only during the pandemic.

01:19So there's stiff competition both within the local scene

01:24and also like international brands.

01:26And of course, because the business was growing, it also meant bigger operations

01:31and there were challenges also.

01:33But at the end of the day, like what Sir Albert said,

01:37it's really all about learning that there are customers who are happy about the products

01:42and then learning a lot from there and just building this empire as it is right now.

01:49There are so many bags and shoe businesses out there in the market.

01:53So what sets you apart from the other shoe and bag business?

01:57We always make sure that as a brand, flexible enough to adapt to the ever-changing consumer preferences.

02:04But at the same time, staying true to its core values, to what the brand stands for,

02:10what the brand is all about.

02:12And by doing so, being able to really create quality products that our consumers would love and enjoy

02:18and then the same products that we will be proud of even in the next 35 years from now.

02:24One of our bestsellers and also one of our timeless pieces would be the Ruth bag.

02:29So the Ruth bag, as you see, it's very elegant and it can actually also fit like any occasion.

02:48so in those 35 years, what are the lessons that you have learned that you would like to impart?

02:56I'm going to share the lessons that I personally learned and we are learning from Mr. Albert himself.

03:03Now, Sir Albert used to say that, you know, every day is a learning process.

03:07So I think it's really about loving what you do, being passionate about it and continuously learning.

03:16Success lies behind fear.

03:18Don't let fear hold you back.
