'Tokkum Pole' is a classic ~30m vertical WI5+ ice climb in Marble Canyon, BC, Canada. On January 18th, 2025, Daniel Gunn and I each lowered down to the canyon floor, where we estimate the air temperature was between -25 and -30°C.

A thin pillar approximately 3m tall guarded the rest of the climb. I opted for a mixed approach, which allowed me to quickly gain the no-hands rest, although I was certainly gripped. ~20m of vertical ice climbing followed, with minimal opportunity for rest.

To date, this is the most aesthetic, exciting, and difficult ice line I have climbed.
