00:55The leader of Turkey's main opposition party, the CHP, has renewed calls for supporters
01:01to take to the streets to peacefully protest the arrest of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu.
01:06Imamoglu was arrested in a dawn raid of his residence on Wednesday over alleged corruption
01:11and links to terror groups.
01:13Many view the arrest as a politically driven attempt to remove a popular opposition figure
01:17and key challenger to President Erdogan in the next presidential race set for 2028.
01:23Erdogan denies any involvement in the legal probe, insisting that Turkish courts operate
01:28freely and independently.
01:30Since his arrest, thousands of people have gathered at Istanbul City Hall, the designated
01:34office of the mayor, calling for his release.
01:38Clashes have erupted between protesters and police in Istanbul and also in the capital
01:42Ankara.
01:43A five-day ban on protest was instated in Ankara after protesters clashed with police
01:48on a university campus, where tear gas and water cannons were deployed to disperse the
01:52crowds.
01:53But despite this, CHP leader Özgür Özel is urging people to exercise their constitutional
01:59right and continue participating in peaceful demonstrations.
02:07Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of silence
02:12and stalling ceasefire efforts.
02:14Zelensky says Kyiv has accepted a U.S. proposal for a complete ceasefire more than a week
02:19ago.
02:20The Ukrainian leader noted that no progress has been made on that front as Putin is yet
02:24to respond to the proposal.
02:26He accused his Russian counterpart of continuing to act as an aggressor as the Kremlin continues
02:31its heavy aerial bombardment of Ukraine.
02:34Both Zelensky and Putin agreed in principle on Wednesday to the partial truce after U.S.
02:38President Donald Trump spoke with them.
02:41It still remains to be seen what possible targets would be off-limits to attack within
02:45the scope of the agreement.
02:48Zelensky's comments come just a few days before peace talks are scheduled to resume in Saudi
02:52Arabia with U.S. officials next week.
02:55The Ukrainian president stressed that more pressure must be put on Russia to finally
02:58bring the invasion of his country to an end.
03:06Meditate's brothers are back in Romania after being allowed by Romanian authorities to travel
03:11to the U.S. on a three-week vacation, as long as they were back by Monday, despite being
03:17under judicial control accused of trafficking minors and money laundering.
03:22One of the brothers, Andrew, says they have nothing to hide from.
03:26I'm glad to be home, back in Romania.
03:33Like I said, I be, because innocent men don't run from anything.
03:36We're here to clear our names and exonerate ourselves, and after all we've been through,
03:39we truly deserve the day in court where it is stated that we've done nothing wrong.
03:46The Tate brothers' departure from Romania three weeks ago sparked criticism at the time.
03:52Some MPs filed a complaint with the judiciary after reports suggested the U.S. had pressured

04:02At the beginning of March, Florida's Attorney General announced an investigation against
04:07the two brothers.

04:32Shoigu reportedly discussed issues including Moscow's war in Ukraine and the security situation
04:38on the Korean peninsula.
