00:12You just came back from London?

00:18And so happy to talk about this film, as well,

00:22because it's a special small one,

00:23so it's nice to get to have your audience.

00:27How was London, by the way?

00:28It's great. I love being in London.

00:30I love working there.

00:32It was a strange job where I had a month off

00:34in the middle of shooting because of schedule,

00:37and so I just traveled a lot.

00:39And that was really nice.

00:42I didn't really — I mean, I live in L.A.,

00:43and we have friends who lost their home,

00:45and so they're in our home, and we didn't want to go back.

00:48So we just stayed in London and kind of explored.

00:51Went to places. I've never been to Venice before.

00:53Venice in wintertime.

00:54I've never been to Venice.

00:56I mean, I don't —

00:57If you are someone who says that you don't like Venice,

01:01that's fine. You can have your own opinions.

01:03But I will judge you for it.

01:06You know?

01:08Is that — It's not happening.

01:09It's a remarkable place.

01:11It's a city floating on wood sticks and mud,

01:16and it's unreal.

01:19Really? I cannot wait.

01:21It's incredible.

01:22I have to go there.

01:23Yes, you should. And during the wintertime,

01:24it's very quiet.

01:25And now you said you're back,

01:27and you were like, yeah, it's almost baseball season.

01:29It is baseball season.

01:31I mean, in Tokyo, but it is for the Dodgers.

01:33But it is baseball season. And I know —

01:35You love your Dodgers.

01:36I do. And I thought you were a Red Sox fan

01:39because of your one movie or whatever.

01:41You're like, you're big. You're like —

01:46Two movies.

01:47Sorry.

01:49I thought you — Sorry.

01:52You believe that I was a Red Sox fan.

01:54I should have got a nomination for that film.

01:56Because you're a Yankees fan.

01:57I'm a Yankees fan, yeah.

02:03So, I respect this city so much.

02:09You guys have all the villains in the league.

02:11The Astros are villains.

02:13But, like, you can't ignore —

02:24Juan Soto is the villain of the Major League Baseball.

02:30And we've got, like, Kike Hernandez,

02:32who's just, like, a goofy, lovely,

02:35sweetheart of a character.

02:37Like, the characters on the Dodgers are so lovable.

02:40Like, Mookie with his snarl and the Freddy and —

02:44The Freddy.

02:46The Freddy is the dance they do?

02:48Yes. And I miss Jock.

02:49I still miss Jock Peterson.

02:50Not the Savannah Bananas.

02:53The Dodgers play baseball.

02:55And you guys have all your rules with, like,

02:57how they have to, like, cut their hair

02:59and shave their face and stuff.

03:00Not this year. They're allowed to grow beards.

03:02Okay. But they had to have a specific hair.

03:04I had the worst time I went watching the World Series,

03:07because your team was so good.

03:09It was — So, I —

03:10It was awful, though.

03:11I had just had a laparoscopy procedure.

03:14I'm fine. But I had that.

03:16And I was so bummed,

03:17because it was in the middle of the World Series,

03:18and I'm a very aggressive cheerer at home.

03:21And I was so sad that I wasn't going to be able

03:24to do my normal, you know, jumping-out-of-the-sofa thing.

03:28But because we went to —

03:29I think it was game six or something.

03:31I was just able to cheer by the time we got to the final game.

03:36You brought a photo of you in your very cozy robe.

03:40Go Dodgers. Yeah. Going for it.

03:42And that's not all of our merchandise.

03:44That's just some of it.

03:46Do you like going to the games or watching it?

03:47I like going to the games, but I really love the —

03:50I love being able to watch a pitch from a television.

03:52Like, I love watching the pitching from TV.

03:55Yeah. Yeah. And I love, like —

03:56I love being mad at an umpire for the wrong call

04:00or something, you know? Yeah.

04:01I love that you're so into it. I'm so into Dodger season.

04:05Baseball season.

04:08Dodgers. That's so rude.

04:11I have lost an entire New York audience.

04:16No, it's going to be a good season.

04:21Let's talk about your new movie,

04:22The Assessment. It is getting great reviews.

04:25The cast is great. Great cast.

04:27Alicia Vikander is one of our favorites.

04:30Comes on the show. She's so fun.

04:32Yes. And shows us, like, a Swedish game or something.

04:36I bet she does. And we played, like —

04:38we played a game once where we tied a rope

04:39around our waist to a bottle,

04:41and I had to lower the bottle into a —

04:43or something — or lower a pencil

04:45into a bottle from my waist.

04:47I mean, that sounds so inappropriate

04:48to do on national television.

04:50I hope that it's a game they play in Sweden.

04:52I have no idea. I just believed her.

04:53I believe everything she says because she's so certain.

04:57Yeah. The way she says anything.

04:58Did she teach you any of the, like, Swedish —

05:01I know Swedish games, but, like, poker, die hard.

05:04Oh, is she? Yeah.

05:06And, like, terrifying, because she's such a winner.

05:09Really? Yeah. She's really competitive.

05:11But she introduced Glogfesten to me,

05:14which is a Scandinavian type of holiday party

05:18that starts kind of in November,

05:21and you just go to different people's homes,

05:23and people just make Glog and make food,

05:26and the kids — Glogfesten.

05:29She's the most fun.

05:30I love that she celebrates Glogfesten.

05:32We're talking about this in August.

05:33She's showing me photos of her Glogfesten.

05:35I want to go to Glogfesten. And so I start —

05:37I've done now, since we worked with each other,

05:39I do a Glogfesten every year.

05:42I've done two already. No way.

05:43There's 50 people I cook for.

05:45It's Scandinavian-themed food.

05:47And we've got things for the kids.

05:49Yeah, it's so much fun.

05:52And so I'm very grateful that she introduced Glogfesten to me,

05:54because now all of my friends

05:56have this one party to look forward to.

05:58Yeah, why not?

05:59And I also, by the way, I got to meet the genius director.

06:03Fleur Fortunet. Yeah, this is her first feature.

06:06And she's — yeah.

06:08And she's a really amazing —

06:11her previous work is music videos and advertising.

06:15She's done videos for Drake, for Travis Scott.

06:18Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

06:21I know her. She's great. But she's got to be excited.

06:23This is a big deal and a big project.

06:25She's worked hard on this.

06:26Yeah, it took five years to get it together,

06:28and then the strikes happened.

06:30But this is such an independent film

06:31that we were able to get a waiver,

06:33which I'm really happy about,

06:34because this was such a baby for her.

06:36And it's in this near-future sci-fi world

06:42where couples — I am a character

06:46who's married to Himesh Patel's character,

06:48and we want to have a child in this future world

06:53because of trying to keep population control at bay.

06:59You have to get assessed. Resources.

07:00You have to get assessed.

07:01And so Alicia Vikander is our assessor,

07:03and she puts us through the ringer,

07:05and it's very absurd, and there's a lot of heart,

07:09a lot of absurdity. It's very fun.

07:11There's a lot of good things to walk away with.

07:13It's getting great reviews. Congratulations on this.
