00:00The administration's senatorial candidates under the Alianza para sa Bago Pilipinas coalition took their campaign to another level earlier today,

00:08staging a grand rally in Cavite, one of the country's vote-rich provinces.

00:13This marks their 10th stop in a nationwide push for the 2025 midterm elections.

00:17Rallying support for the coalition's slate, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. once again led the event and laid out his take on pressing national issues,

00:25including growing concerns over fake news.

00:29PTV's Melanies Moras has the report.

00:38In front of thousands of residents in Cavite, the province which holds the record for most number of voters in the country,

00:45President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. personally campaigned for the administration's senatorial bets under the ticket Alianza para sa Bago Pilipinas.

00:53According to the chief executive, their lineup is composed of the most experienced, most responsible, and most patriotic candidates.

01:01That's why the Filipino people should vote for them.

01:23That's why we are encouraging them.

01:26In a press conference earlier, the admin bets shared their views on vital issues nowadays, like the proliferation of fake news and disinformation online.

01:35For House Deputy Majority Leader Erwin Tulfo and former Senate President Tito Soto,

01:40having stricter measures and a new law to regulate social media platforms must be enforced.

01:46Anti-fake news law and anti-fake content.

01:51Not only fake news, but also fake content.

01:54We have to have a law, otherwise you, me, all of us will be victims of fake news and fake content.

02:04I agree that the spread of fake news and fake content should be a serious and grave punishment.

02:17We also need a law that even those who share it will be punished.

02:23Meanwhile, for Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, there should also be one thing added to this.

02:29It's not just the legislation, but it's also the enforcement.

02:33We need to strengthen the police on how they will trace these fake content makers.

02:44According to Alianza campaign manager Toby Tsianko, in the days to come,

02:48they will go to more cities and provinces to share their candidates' stance and platforms, which are all for the nation.

02:54We know that President Bongbong Marcos has three more years.

02:59Just like what he did here, he went to his very important projects, the Calax.

03:05And we know that the projects are not yet finished.

03:09There are still many projects in the pipeline.

03:11So for these very good projects to continue, it's very important that the legislative agenda is supported by our fellow senators.
