00:00The Department of Agriculture is encouraging young people to be involved in the development of the agricultural sector.

00:07This is the detail of the national news report of Emanuel Bongcodit of Radyo Pilipinas.

00:14This is the theme of this year's Albayang Farmers Organization in a school in Kamalig, Albay.

00:21The government and private sector agencies joined forces to encourage and introduce the young people to the agricultural sector.

00:29There are a lot of opportunities in the field of agriculture, from production, post-production, mechanization, agribusiness,

00:37components that students and young people can use to engage in agriculture.

00:45The AYFO incorporated explains that there are a lot of opportunities in the sector.

00:50In fact, a lot of young people earn from agribusinesses like honeypots and chicken layers.

00:56That is why the organization targets 400 schools to be included in the program.

01:02As of now, 14,007 scholars from 18 schools are already being helped by the organization.

01:08Another concern is the low participation of the younger generation to agriculture.

01:14Because they always comment that agriculture is hot, of course, it's dirty because you have to hold the soil.

01:23Through their school-based training, the AYFO is encouraging young people to become heroes in the agricultural sector.
