00:08This is the wish of some of the members of the Correctional Institution for Women

00:13who are praying for their freedom every day to start a new chapter in their lives.

00:21The Jeremy Capuso Foundation witnessed their stories.

00:26That's why this Women's Month, we went there to deliver free medical services and other gifts.

00:38At the age of 13, an inmate, whose name is Linda, faced a severe trial.

00:46Aside from his parents' separation.

00:49I was raped by my father.

00:51I didn't want what happened to my own father.

00:54I killed him.

00:56He became a rival to the syndicates.

01:01Until one day, he made me choose between three things.

01:05To live, to die, or to die.

01:08I chose what I didn't want to live.

01:11Linda completely blames his past crimes.

01:15And within 29 years of imprisonment, he only has one wish.

01:21To see his mother, Ms. Gait Camarines Norte.

01:25I really want to live a new life with my mother.

01:29I want to be free.

01:31Linda told this story during the visit of the Jeremy Capuso Foundation

01:35to the Correctional Institution for Women where he was imprisoned.

01:39We performed a pap smear and breast examination

01:43on 100 women and gave them hygiene kits.

01:47Many of our patients here in the correctional

01:50have abnormal uterine bleeding.

01:53They have UTIs and breast masks that we need to examine further.

02:00We also fulfilled their wish for a haircut,

02:03hairstyling, and basic makeup training

02:07that will help them start a new life when they are released.

02:12They will be able to go to the proceeds

02:15and when they are released, they will be able to use it.

02:18Despite the bitter past,

02:20their outlook on life remained positive.

02:23Let's not always be negative

02:26because if we become negative,

02:28we will not be able to face all trials.
