00:43their focus now is to free and bring back to the country the former President Rodrigo Duterte as soon as possible.

00:50Why not? That's his country. That's where he was born. Why should he not go back?

00:59I mean, as far as I'm concerned, he's been illegally detained here and he should go back to the Philippines as soon as possible.

01:05That's the comment of Atty. Nicholas Kaufman on what Vice President Sara Duterte said

01:10that they will do everything to bring back the former President to the Philippines.

01:14Former President Duterte is running for Mayor of Davao City.

01:18I also want to demand that our Mayor works for the citizens.

01:25Vice President Duterte said that they will do everything to make this happen.

01:28If we don't think about it, the people of Davao, how we can bring our Mayor there, nothing will really happen.

01:35So we exhaust all means possible, whether it is written in law or it is not written in law, except anything illegal.

01:48Atty. Kaufman was disappointed with the details, especially with the dismissal of the defense team.

01:52But he said that part of their plan is to file a petition for interim release.

02:07Vice President Sara mentioned yesterday that they are studying for legal aid from the ICC.

02:13Kaufman said that the ICC Office of the Public Counsel does not need assistance or service for the defense.

02:19There's no need for the OPCD, I think that's the unit you're referring to.

02:23They're a very important unit at this court, but they provide logistic assistance, administrative assistance,

02:29but they don't provide substantive assistance to any team at the court, whether it be legally aided or privately funded.

02:34People love the former President, and I'm sure that they would pay out of their own pockets in order to ensure that he has the proper defense.
