Should Meadowhall be in the chargeable Clean Air Zone?
Transcript
00:00No, because it would stop people shopping at Meadowhall.
00:02Like my brother, he's a tradesman, he has a family car that his wife uses,
00:07he drives a tradesman van, so he can't come into Sheffield Town Centre.
00:12If he's working in Sheffield Town Centre, the other side of Sheffield, and wants to come
00:17to my mother in North Sheffield, he can't come through the town centre straight from work,
00:22so he has to do a massive detour to go and see his 88-year-old mum and take some shopping.
00:28So, although I agree with what they're doing, trying to keep the area cleaner,
00:33it's not terribly convenient, so don't make it go into other areas where it will stop
00:39the movement of people and the flow of traffic as well.
00:44Health to people, you know, and apart from that, you've got the trains nearby, diesel,
00:51so there's fumes coming off the trains as well, constantly, so yeah, it should be,
00:57you know, I'm a big fan that they're supposed to be doing this, creating an electric rail system,
01:05it needs to be done quick now, I think. And such as Meadowhall, where trains come in and out
01:11all the time, an electrical rail system would be, you know, it really needs to be done.
01:17You've got railways already, haven't you?
01:17Yeah, yeah, yeah, we used to work on the railways, but yeah, it should be extended, I think.
