03:36The DND says six foreigners and two Filipinos were arrested in Grande Island after a warrant
03:42was served for Chinese national Qiu Feng, whose real name is Ye Qianwu, on Wednesday, March 19.
03:47Ye was arrested for violating the Securities Regulation Code and the Cybercrime Prevention
03:52Act of 2012.
03:53The DND also says,
03:55The arrest exposes the unlawful nature, including suspected espionage and kidnapping activities
04:00related to Philippine offshore gaming operations, for which some foreign nationals are using
04:04Grande Island under the guise of private enterprises.
04:07The department describes Grande Island as,
04:18President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. vetoes the bill to declare Pampanga the culinary capital
04:22of the Philippines, saying that the country should focus on promoting the diverse culinary
04:26traditions from all regions.
04:28In his message, the president thanked both houses of Congress for the,
04:36However, he also cites several reasons for rejecting the bill, including concerns about
04:41its historical basis, the lack of studies, and key performance indicators supporting
04:45the designation.
04:46He also warns that the declaration could offend sensibilities in other provinces that are
04:51equally proud of their culinary traditions.
04:55U.S. President Donald Trump will sign an executive order aiming to shut down the Department of
05:00Education, fulfilling a major campaign promise, according to a White House summary seen by
05:04Reuters.
05:05The order directs Education Secretary Linda McMahon to,
05:09take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Department of Education and
05:13return education authority to the states.
05:16It also mandates that any programs funded by the Department of Education should not,
05:26Before the order was signed, a group of Democratic state attorneys general filed a lawsuit to
05:31stop Trump from closing the department.
05:33Abolishing the Department of Education would be Trump's first attempt to close a cabinet-level
05:37agency.
05:38Trump has often called the existence of the agency,
