00:00Next week, the Tigil Pasada of the Manibela Transport Group will be held.

00:06And to make sure that the commuters will not be affected,

00:11the Transportation Department will have a dialogue with the group.

00:19This is the jeepney that Aira is using to go to school.

00:24When she found out that the Tigil Pasada of the Manibela Transport Group will be held

00:29next week, she was very worried.

00:32Even though she understood what the group said, she still worries about the commute.

00:37I always commute.

00:39And I always need a jeepney to go to school.

00:43I will have a hard time because I don't have my own service.

00:47Meanwhile, Ray's Tigil Pasada will be held next week.

00:50This is his main livelihood for his two children who are studying.

00:54One of them is already in school.

00:56We don't stop because this is where we get our daily food.

01:01So we stop eating if we don't commute.

01:05To make sure that the commuters will not be affected,

01:08DOTR Secretary Vince Dizon,

01:10DOTR Assistant Secretary for Road Transport and Non-Infrastructure,

01:14Jos Coro Jojo Reyes,

01:16led the dialogue with the relevant transport groups.

01:20The hope is that once the Tigil Pasada is held,

01:23there will be a proper discussion

01:25to make sure that the commuters will not be affected

01:28while the jeepney drivers and operators are worried.

01:32Secretary Dizon promised to listen to the concerns of the transport sector

01:36to improve the implementation of the Public Transport Modernization Program.

01:40Meanwhile, the DOTR,

01:42Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board of LTFRB,

01:46and various government agencies are preparing

01:48to make sure that the commuters will not be affected.

01:51The DOTR will continue coordinating

01:53with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority or MMDA

01:56and local government units

01:58to provide free transportation for the public.

02:01Manibela Chairman Mar Valbuena first announced

02:04that the Transport Strike on March 24, 25, and 26

02:08on the issue of the consolidation of public utility vehicles.

02:12According to the LTFRB data,

02:1486% of the PUVs are under consolidation

02:18as part of the government's modernization program.
