00:00The problem is that all services will have a menu available of what the children to be
00:06served each day, but this menu is not always what children are getting. So it could be
00:13incorrect for reasons out of the control of the centre, but in some centres it will say
00:19something like a selection of gourmet sandwiches, but what's actually being given is jam and
00:24a Vegemite on white bread. Although we have some really good examples of centres who are
00:29private centres who are doing an incredibly good job with food, so it can be done and
00:35it can be done in centres that want to make a profit. It's not impossible. So children
00:39actually need to be exposed to a wide variety of foods to actually develop those food preferences
00:44and early education and care is the perfect place for that to happen. Like I said, there
00:50are lots of services who are doing this extremely well. If you do have concerns, then yes, talk
00:56to your service.
