More than 400 bus services throughout regional NSW will have tap-and-go payment options by the end of 2027.

00:00By 2027, we will have the capacity for contactless payments on regional buses right across regional NSW.
00:09We've got 400 buses that will be able to accept this technology as it rolls out.
00:14The rollout will take some time.
00:16We've seen right across regional NSW a real hunger to be able to use contactless payments.
00:23With the rollout of the trial, we've seen a 42% uptake in people choosing to pay through contactless technology.
00:30So that might be a credit card or tapping on their phone.
00:33So this is really important because it's giving people the option.
00:36We know that cash is still something that a lot of people want to use when they get on the buses
00:41but we also know that a lot of people don't want to have to carry cash
00:45and they don't want to have to get change and muck around with that.
00:50So this is a really good option to give choice to everyone across the state.
