After taking a huge gamble ordering the £30,000 #mclaren #675lt bodykit from #temu and fitting up the front end in the last video, it's time to start assembling the much more complex rear end. The front end went together fairly effortlessly but unfortunately we can't say the same for the rear.

00:00I've set myself the biggest challenge to date, building a £400,000 McLaren from Tima.
00:05Which is just as ridiculous a challenge as it sounds.
00:08We want to turn my standard 650S into something much rarer and much more special
00:14at a fraction of what it should have cost.
00:16But to do this we were going to need parts,
00:18so we went into our local McLaren dealership, which didn't go to plan.
00:22So we had to find a way to get a price on those parts,
00:24but when we finally got them, we were horrified.
00:27For £148,000.
00:30So we needed to find a cheaper way in order to upgrade my McLaren,
00:33which sent us to...
00:35The home of cheap things.
00:36Timo.
00:38Where we found a full carbon fibre conversion kit for the 650S to a 675LT
00:44for the total of £30,000.
00:47This Timo kit is going to be the one to go for.
00:50Ordered.
00:50And then we just had to wait for it to be made and shipped from China to the UK.
00:54Oh my god.
00:56And like a kid on Christmas morning, we got the box ripped open and started fitting it to our car.
01:00But converting a 650S to a 675LT was not as easy as I thought.
01:06There are a lot of differences between this car and a 650S.
01:08Which is going to make this challenge even harder,
01:11but still hopefully not impossible.
01:14Now in the last video we got the front end on,
01:16but in this video we've got to sort out the rear end,
01:18which is going to be a lot more challenging.
01:20Now in order to fit these rear panels, we need some brackets.
01:23Now all of these got damaged in the crash.
01:25As we've seen in the last video, the brackets from McLaren are really expensive.
01:29Two and a half grand just for that.
01:30I've managed to find these ones on eBay for a grand total of £500,
01:35as opposed to the £5,000 which McLaren wanted for the brackets just for the rear end.
01:39Now McLaren don't only bolt these panels on,
01:41they also bond them on in areas as well with quite thick glue.
01:44So we're going to try and clean that up first
01:46to make sure we can get it sitting exactly where we want to,
01:49and then try and fit it up.
01:50You're going straight...
01:51That's a heavy duty one that, Micky.
01:53Well it's only a little flat bit.
01:54Do you not want to use the finger sander?
01:56I think you're right, actually. I don't know where I am.
02:13So I think actually we're going to start with this,
02:15because this sort of goes into the rear quarter and is dictated by it as well.
02:20So get this one on first onto the factory mounting points at the bottom.
02:26Oh yeah, look how nice that fits in there.
02:29That fits really well.
02:31I wonder if it'll fit the rest of it the same.
02:35Now let's try the port one.
02:37I'm praying this is good.
02:39All right, where are we going first?
02:41Are we slotting it over this bit first?
02:42Yeah, slotting, yeah.
02:43Okay, like that.
02:46Cool.
02:49Nice, nice.
02:51That ain't too bad.
02:52Okay, up top's not so great.
02:55Hello.
02:56How's that looking underneath?
02:58Yeah, that all lined right up.
02:59Have they?
03:00Yeah.
03:02Shall we throw a bolt in it?
03:03I think so.
03:04I wish I could say the same round here.
03:06Oh no, it does line up, it's just the brackets are so bendy.
03:10They're really, really bendy.
03:12I'd love one.
03:18Micky?
03:18Yeah?
03:19It's not looking so good.
03:21That's better, yes.
03:24Please come round.
03:26What do we think?
03:27That looks like a pretty nice fit to me.
03:31It's still in all the mounting points down here.
03:33We've got a bolt up here which hopefully we can get to, to hold that to the quarter.
03:38I'm saying that's pretty decent.
03:40Close the door, see what it looks like.
03:41Oh yeah, I forgot about that bit.
03:45Ah, there we go.
03:46Okay, so it's a bit proud.
03:48That can come in there though, can't it?
03:50Yeah, exactly like that.
03:52Nice.
03:53Not really bad at all.
03:54No, it's not.
03:57I'm pretty pleased with that.
03:58The bolt hole's lined up lovely.
04:00You're going to need some spacers.
04:02I think we need some new wheels, I think is what we need.
04:04Yeah.
04:05Okay.
04:06Do you know what I think for the door caps, not bad at all.
04:09No, that looks smart.
04:11Yeah, why don't you get it in a little bit.
04:13In and stuck and bolted and with a little bit of jiggle.
04:16I say we're cooking with gas.
04:21Grille's rescued, let's see how that fits.
04:23It will need a clean up, but this is first fit.
04:25Do I pull this off first?
04:28Do you think that comes off first or?
04:30You scare me with a metal trim tool.
04:32You reckon that goes like that?
04:33Yeah.
04:35That fits pretty good.
04:36It does fit pretty good.
04:38How does it go in there?
04:39How does it go from underneath?
04:41Oh, maybe.
04:42No, because it fitted from the top, didn't it?
04:44No.
04:46Yes.
04:48So we have to undo everything.
04:50No, not quite.
04:53Put that down there.
04:54There we go, that's it.
04:56Then this trim bit goes over to the top.
05:02That, that one there.
05:04Oh, it's looking good.
05:05Hang on, let's have a look before you do that.
05:07If we can get that like that, maybe back a bit, maybe like that.
05:14And then we're going for this?
05:15Yeah.
05:16Storing.
05:20Something like that?
05:22Yeah, something like that.
05:24That looks good.
05:26That looks real good.
05:27We've got the holes in quite the right places.
05:29But we had one problem, which we needed to get to the bottom of.
05:32Do we bond this on now and send it to the body shop with the doors and the quarters on?
05:38Or do we take them off and then bond them after we get them painted?
05:42My worry is we could damage them quite easily refitting them.
05:45Then what do we do with this?
05:46Do we, obviously we'll take that out, but the bottom trim.
05:49What do we do with that?
05:50Do we leave that out and then potentially risk damaging it when we put it back together?
05:53I feel like there is no perfect solution for that, is there?
05:56No, I just think do it as a bolt on, bolt off.
05:59I would like it bonded on all in place.
06:02The doors can come off so they can be painted.
06:04I mean, to be fair, if just we bonded the quarters on.
06:07How do you feel about that with putting the engine back in?
06:09What comes first?
06:10The chicken or the egg?
06:13Ideally, what we want to do is get the engine in with no panels on.
06:16If we've got any problems, any leaks.
06:18And also, freshly painted panel, working on engine.
06:23Yeah, I think we get it fitting almost perfect so we can bond it.
06:27I think let's get it that far and then we'll try and make a decision.
06:30Let's try and get that so it doesn't do this.
06:33And then we're going to see how everything's fitting this side,
06:35try and tackle the other side.
06:37Second quarter, we're going on.
06:45Okay, so that's going to go here.
06:48Probably about there.
06:49Looking good at the moment.
06:58For a China kit, mate, it's fitting pretty good.
07:01At the moment, yeah.
07:02I just feel like when you do one panel at a time, it's like it's all right.
07:05And then when you come to actually getting it all together and you're like,
07:08oh my God, I've got so much work to do.
07:10I feel like it's flaring out a bit here.
07:12So you're going to push that in until the other quarter does it like this.
07:16So try and pull that bit in and push it out at the top.
07:19See what I'm thinking, I feel like that pokes out too much.
07:22So the driver's side doesn't seem to fit as well.
07:24So there's definitely going to be some work to do here.
07:26Is it just me or does it look like 10 times longer
07:29than what it has for the past eight weeks?
07:30It looks massive, doesn't it?
07:33It is a long tail.
07:34True, yeah.
07:35It just feels really long.
07:37Nice.
07:39Now this piece really is going to tell us how those two bits are lining up
07:43because it bolts, I believe, with some of the rivnuts in here into the rear quarters.
07:49We'll essentially line that up on there, drop that on.
07:53It's not bad, but it's a bit tight on this side.
07:55It can slot down, but it's definitely going to rub.
07:57You see there, a lot of friction.
08:02This is also true because we can use those bolt holes
08:04to push the quarter out a bit, can't we?
08:06Bolt hole here.
08:07Now, if you are new to the channel or haven't subscribed
08:10and you love builds like these, make sure to go down there
08:12and hit that subscribe button.
08:14It's completely free to do so.
08:16Have you got your back one in?
08:17Yeah.
08:18So you've got two in?
08:19Yeah.
08:20I've got one in.
08:21So I'm trying to figure out whether it means that this needs to come back
08:24or needs to go forward.
08:27That looks cool, doesn't it?
08:28Yeah, it does look really cool.
08:30Mickey's in McLaren jail.
08:32Let me out!
08:34Let me out!
08:42It may not be a bad idea in between these two panels,
08:45even though they're bolted together,
08:47to maybe fit a rubber down that bit.
08:48I feel like it may be a bit rattly
08:51and it would just stop the paint from wearing away and stuff like that.
08:56Yeah, it is.
08:57It's the back one that lines up and the front one don't.
08:59Can you see that?
09:01Just here, you can only see half of the rivnut through that hole.
09:04We're going to elongate it a bit that way towards the middle of the car
09:10and then it should bolt up
09:11and then we can get it where we want it
09:12and then we've got a bit more work
09:15because it still becomes a bit messy here,
09:17so it's going to be fun.
09:25These are the things you have to do for body kits.
09:27Never 100%.
09:29I always thought when I did my 1M kit,
09:30it was like one and a half grand.
09:31I thought, oh, that'll be all right.
09:33It wasn't.
09:33Spend a bit more, still wasn't any better.
09:36Spend a bit more, still not any better.
09:37So now that we've got both of the rear quarters fitted,
09:40we want to try and get the gaps nice.
09:41So we get to work on adjusting these panels
09:43and using our snazzy gap measuring tool,
09:46try and get it into place.
09:47And after a bit of work, I think we got there.
09:50To set this in the right place,
09:51I think what we're going to start doing is nutting and bolting it down
09:54to parts where it technically shouldn't be.
09:57So a lot of places where it was bonded, like here,
09:59we can get a real nice nut and bolt on there,
10:01which is going to hunker it down into its spot
10:04and then really tell us how everything's sitting.
10:07So at the moment, I mean, look,
10:09there's just so much movement in it all.
10:11Although it's bolted onto the brackets,
10:13I mean, the brackets are so flimsy.
10:15They are made out of paper mache.
10:17So we start opening up some extra holes in areas of the body
10:20where it's not going to matter too much
10:21and then we can nut and bolt these areas to make it that bit stronger.
10:30This must be really strong metal or really bad drill bits.
10:37Is it more solid?
10:40That bit's solid.
10:41Yeah.
10:42And now I've got one side done,
10:43we need to do the same for the opposite side.
10:53Solid now.
10:53Can I get out of here?
10:54Because I'm feeling very trapped.
10:55The McLaren is finally starting to take shape,
10:58but looking good is just the beginning.
10:59Performance plays a crucial role too.

12:09Thank you, Manuel, for sponsoring this video.
12:11Let's get back to work on the McLaren.
12:12I've been doing a bit more messing about,
12:14managed to drop this down
12:15and that is looking a fair bit better.
12:18Being honest, I might still replace this cover
12:20because you can see how damaged it was
12:23and it's still got some damage remaining.
12:26So is it going to be the better option
12:27just to change it for a completely different one
12:29and then it's not been repaired and it's good?
12:31But now we have a fuel filler cap,
12:34which is also rubbish,
12:36so this will need replacing,
12:38but it will give us an idea of the panel gaps.
12:41So we can have a look when this is plonked in.
12:48That's all right.
12:53Oh, yeah.
12:54I'd say that's about there.
12:56But this is no good, is it?
12:59Look at the state of it.
13:00A tiger seal wood screws into it
13:01and then a tiger sealed a magnet in.
13:03It's definitely a cheap repair when it got crashed.
13:05It's definitely a bodge repair.
13:07The next thing really,
13:08them bits, what are they even called?
13:10Rockers?
13:11The side bottom bits, technical words.
13:13That's what McLaren call them, I bet.
13:18Okay, so they need to go up and into those slots there.
13:21Got these carbon tabs on the ears, intakes,
13:24I don't know what they're called,
13:25and then also some holes in these.
13:27So I'm guessing I'll put it on like that,
13:32line those up and slot it on.
13:36Which is okay, but it'd be better if it fitted.
13:41What's it like down there?
13:43Well, I'm clashing here.
13:44I'm not clashing that it's there that's caused me a problem.
13:46So what I might do is take a bit of material out of there
13:51and hopefully that'll help it sit a bit more flush.
13:56You know, everywhere really.
13:57And then hopefully we'll also push it out at the bottom
13:59and get the angle right, which will then pull that bit out.
14:03That's my thinking anyway.
14:06It's still a problem.
14:25We are completely flush here and we're not touching.
14:28If I was going to take any more out, it would be in that bit.
14:31This is a real concern now, I can't lie.
14:34Look how different that is to that.
14:40That's a big difference, isn't it?
14:42Even if I pull the tail end out and it's like that.
14:46So bear in mind that's hooked into those carbon bits.
14:51So even if I pull that bit out, look how far in that bit is still.
14:57That is not going to pass.
14:59For reference, let's try this side, see how this one does.
15:04Oh my God.
15:15You get a lock, which there's no hole for.
15:18So just for now, I'm going to take this off so it doesn't clash with this section
15:21and then we can figure out how we're going to make a hole in that new piece
15:25to allow for the lock to pass through it later.
15:29Imagine if it just fits, absolutely.
15:31That would be lovely because then I'm just going to cut a hole in a bit that you don't see.
15:41Once that's bolted in there, that actually ain't too bad, is it?
15:45It's just the gap opens up and I can't figure out why.
15:48It starts off nice and tight and I'm not that concerned about that there.
15:53It's just the tight to loose, yeah.
15:56Is that you pinching that or is that?
15:58That's just pulling it off, yeah.
16:01Let's find where that's clashing and how we can get it further up.
16:04We have some problem solving to do.
16:07These bits, so far, look like the biggest ball ache.
16:12So we think that these holes are not quite in the right place,
16:15not allowing it to sit flush, not allowing it to sit all the way in.
16:18So we'll try and open these up and then that should hopefully fix our problems,
16:22but there's only one way to find out.
16:31Okay, definitely slots in a lot easier.
16:39What do we think?
16:40It's if the gap was even, it wouldn't be so bad,
16:41but it's the fact that that bit fits so flush and then it goes from tight to loose.
16:45So we decided to get some bolts in and see if that made any differences to any of the adjustments,
16:50but it didn't.
16:51All the panels seem to fit so tightly and not have any jiggle room between them.
16:55We want to get it so it sits naturally in a happy place rather than being forced and squeezed.
17:02We need to find what's stopping that from coming up a bit or that going down a bit.
17:06That seems really tight now, doesn't it?
17:08It's better, I just wouldn't call it good.
17:10We're still battling with this problem.
17:12I want this gap to be really nice and I don't want it to be putting any panel under pressure
17:16and we've come to the conclusion that either the quarter or this isn't right.
17:20So we're going to have to balance it out to make it work.
17:22Now this is one tiny little single wafer thin piece of carbon,
17:27whereas this one is basically a solid lump about that thick.
17:30So we're going to take a bit of material off here with the block,
17:33just push that back so then we can pull this through but it's under no dramas,
17:38no knocking, no rubbing and then hopefully what that's going to do then
17:41is open up this to be an even gap and it should look a lot smarter.
17:44As soon as you're battling with it and you try and stretch it into place,
17:48it's then lifting the quarter up, putting everything under tension,
17:52throws this gap out, it just causes a whole world of headaches.
17:55So I feel like that is the way to try it.
18:00So here we go, I'm actually pretty happy with this.
18:09We've put a bolt in this section of the rear quarter here
18:11which is going to hold it in place nicely
18:13but then that kind of made everything line up a bit better.
18:16We'll do a bit of tweaking on the carbon bit here, a bit of tweaking on this
18:19and now we are left with a much more consistent gap
18:22and I'm hoping when it goes off to the guys at FlatOut to be painted,
18:26they can just even that out a bit, block it all,
18:28make it so the line isn't like this, it's nice and smooth and flat
18:32and it's happy days.
18:33What do you think? I think that looks pretty legit.
18:35I thought it was going to be a lot worse than what it was to get it lined up
18:38but we need to make our minds up on a colour.
18:40I know that I want to keep this car orange,
18:42I know that's going to piss some of you off.
18:43It is what it is, I think it's the right colour for it
18:45because orange is McLaren's colour
18:48and I've never had an orange car before and I think it suits it.
18:52So that's what we're going with.
18:53We just need to pick our colour and we've got some options here.
18:56These are all factory McLaren colours
18:58and the one that I like best out of these is that one.
19:02This is Lumia orange and the annoying thing is it's an MSO colour
19:06which means unless you are a McLaren authorised repair centre,
19:11that's the only way you can get that colour
19:13and they won't sell it to us and we've asked other places
19:16and they won't sell it to us either.
19:17So we're going to have to try and make something else work
19:19or maybe try and make a better variant of it.
19:21So the guys at FlatOut have done us a Cambi orange spray out
19:25which isn't a million miles away
19:27but I'm going to leave that with them guys
19:29and see if they can make it any more sparkly and in your face
19:31because I think orange is the right colour for this car.
19:33I'm going to hit it with some guide coat
19:36and then we can see how low and high it is.
19:38The guys from the body shop have said don't add any material to it
19:40because if we want to do that they're going to do it
19:42but we're going to try and get it as flat as we can with the prime that's on it.
19:45So let's see how she goes.
19:55So
20:13all right next piece to go on is the spoiler
20:15and we've got this nice new one to go on
20:17but nothing to mount it to at the moment.
20:19The whole spoiler was absolutely written off in the crash
20:22so I've gone on eBay and picked up what I think is a bit of a bargain from a breakers.
20:26I think this is an mp4 spoiler but it's the same anyway
20:28so we've got both uprights, the brake light and the original blade which we don't need
20:33which we can transfer everything over to and then fit to the car.
20:37I think I've got this now look.
20:42And it's a bit of a strange one to install.
20:44It doesn't really seem to be a right way to be able to do it.
20:47You've just got to kind of cram it in and hope for the best.
20:52Are they air or what?
20:54I think they've gone off gearbox oil.
20:55Yeah they've gone off the gearbox.
20:56I think so yeah I'm not 100% sure.
20:59Either works up the suspension hydraulics or the gearbox oil.
21:05But now those active uprights are on
21:07it's time to fit the new carbon fiber long tail spoiler blade.
21:12Cool question.
21:14Um the gap's huge.
21:17That's definitely too big.
21:22You're over it, look at mine.
21:24And it was so clear that something wasn't right.
21:26Both sides were completely different
21:28so again we had to play around with this to try and get it spot on.
21:32Happy?
21:35That one needs tightening up doesn't it?
21:36But for now look that's casual mode and then this is like
21:42That's like breaking power.
21:44Yeah boy.
21:46You can see why it stops you some more can't you?
21:49And it feels strong.
21:50That feels sturdy.
21:52Brake lights.
21:54Yes aye.
22:00I got a right bargain on that.
22:01These are supposed to be 800 quid each on ebay and that was 500 quid
22:04and I paid 800 quid for both of them the spoiler and the brake light.
22:07500 quid for brake light?
22:08500 quid for a brake light second hand.
22:11I know yeah bargain.
22:12All right next bit.
22:13New crash bar.
22:14I've got to get this on because the next thing to go on is the rear bumper
22:18and the crash bar got mashed up.
22:22So
22:45yes there is.
22:47So once we got the brackets removed from the crash bar which were clashing with the new
22:50rear bumper we could give it another shot.
22:56That's better.
22:57We've just got a massive lip looks like.
22:59So this is lined up here.
23:09I've not tightened anything up but I can already see when that is pushed up.
23:15Look at the lip difference there.
23:16Yeah it's not healthy and it's actually all right there.
23:20I think also if you do it going in a bit.
23:23Yeah it's a bit raised here.
23:24Yeah like looking that way looking down on it you can see it sticks out quite a bit.
23:29I'm happy.
23:32I'm well happy with like the way it looks we just need to work some of these bits.
23:36So I think we need to take it off again elongate these holes side to side a bit
23:40so we can move it over that way a tad.
23:42Yeah this side needs to come this way just a snip just a tiny tiny bit and it's not much at all
23:46and then we need to figure out how we're going to make this work whether we take
23:49the quarter back to match the bumper or build the bumper to match the quarter.
23:53Right we need to open up these holes a bit and the reason why I put a mask on is because
23:56carbon dust is very scary so I'm going to make these holes bigger then we've got a bit of adjustment.
24:12There we go now we've got adjustment.
24:20There we go that looks better like that.
24:22Instantly that looks better.
24:25Better on this edge better on this one and we've got a little bit of in and out as well.
24:35What's the back like?
24:36Still not great so that's still got that lip there which on this side is a lot better so
24:44I think before we decide that I'm going to sand material out of the bumper I'm going to measure
24:48here to see what that length is and see which one's actually out if it's the quarter or the
24:53bumper because then if we start sanding the quarter to match it then it might throw the
24:58spoiler gap out.
25:00This one's about half a centimeter shorter on the bumper.
25:03Quarter's 41.
25:05Quarter is 41 and a bit so we take some out the quarter.
25:10Take half a centimeter out the quarter.
25:12Is this quarter a bit bigger than the other?
25:13Yeah it is.
25:14So what is that is what's going to make up that bit do you reckon?
25:17It may do it or it may just even it out so it's like it's here it's just hanging.
25:22Look at the shape of that.
25:23So basically like this bit here is angled on the quarter is angled that way and on the
25:27bumper is angled that way making a triangle which is then pushing the gap out and then
25:32making the one here almost like a centimeter.
25:45Mickey, grab the belt sander.
25:48I think if we just go across it with the belt sander rather than trying to do it in a block
25:51and just hit it square on both and then it should just pop in.
25:55Can you hear a word of that when I talk?
25:56Yeah I'll put subtitles on it anyway.
25:58Thanks.
26:04It's getting better.
26:04Yeah it's getting better.
26:08What happens when you try and push the bumper now?
26:12This bit got stuck.
26:14See this little bit of material underneath there that kind of wants to sit up underneath
26:20that lip there that.
26:21I can see what the problem is yeah with sound.
26:26Yeah okay let's do that.
26:28Sweet we're getting there we're getting there.
26:30Yeah a little bit by a little bit.
26:36So you think the quarter needs a bit this is still a bit proud that way it's not crazy
26:42but I think that is McLaren passable like it's not your fingers don't get caught on it.
26:49Or from a distance you can't tell.
26:50You can see where there's a grind mark from when it was molded.
26:54Oh yeah absolutely so we need to essentially just build that line up there.
26:57Maybe knock a tiny bit I don't know if you need to do that there now.
27:00But now the entire body kit is fitted we need to get this car sanded because we
27:04haven't got long at all now until this is heading off to the body shop.
27:07So that means blocking down not only the new panels but also the original ones
27:10because the previous repairs might not have been the best.
27:15So what we're aiming to do here is make sure the panels as flat as they can be because
27:20it's a normal thing with fiberglass panels anyway that they're always a bit wobbly.
27:24So if you just paint them as they are, DA sand them, paint them,
27:27they're going to look like this which is not what you want.
27:29So by blocking everything we're trying to get it as flat as we can or at least as flat as we can.
27:33For now in preparation for the body shop to carry on with this job
27:37and by putting some black guide coat down we can then sand that
27:42and then when all of the black's gone and everything's looking smooth
27:44we can see there's no dimples in the panel and it's going to look...
27:48What's the word Mickey?
27:50Rained.
28:04So now we've just done this section here and we can see that because there's no
28:08massive black blobs in there that that is pretty much flat now.
28:13So that is good but we sort of knew that would be because that's an original panel.
28:16So these ones are going to be the challenging bits.
28:20So
28:44we are sanded, prepped and ready to go to the body shop but before we do that
28:48we need to fact check ourselves.
28:50We need to see how good this kit fits and there's only one way we can do that
28:54and that is comparing it to the real deal.
28:57So we have Tim's car here, Schmee 150
29:00and we are going to check to see with the truth-telling tool
29:04how far off our gaps are to see if we have beaten McLaren
29:08or we've still got a lot of work to do
29:10and I think it's going to be a few questionable bits, I can't lie.
29:14But we're going to start off with the doors because these are the main telltale ones.
29:17These are the big gaps here.
29:18We've got one in the rear quarter and one between the wing.
29:21Should we go off this body line here?
29:22Yeah.
29:23Okay, we have a four mil gap there.
29:27We get that where it needs to be and where should we go with this one here?
29:31Maybe four and a half.
29:33What do we reckon it's going to be?
29:34I think it's bigger.
29:37I'm doing this as carefully as I can by the way.
29:38I'm not marking anything, I promise.
29:42Oh no, it's not.
29:44It's four mil, I'm just saying.
29:47Where did I go with this one, was it there?
29:48Yeah.
29:50Oh, I'm going to go 5.75.
29:53I'm just saying, McLaren, you need to up your game.
29:57Do you want to do this one, Mickey?
29:58Yeah, let's have a go.
29:59Take it away.
30:00Right in the middle, five mil.
30:06Five mil.
30:07Is it?
30:07Yeah.
30:08Oh, crazy.
30:08What about the sides?
30:10I think we've got better gaps.
30:11You reckon?
30:12We've got really small gaps.
30:14Not even three?
30:16Not even three.
30:17And they're quite a...
30:20Oh.
30:21Four.
30:22Four.
30:23So we could actually bring the wings out a tiny bit to match McLaren.
30:27Or we just say we win.
30:28Or win.
30:29Are we better than McLaren?
30:31No.
30:33This one's a bit funny actually because it kind of goes in at an angle.
30:36So if we go in at the angle it's comfortable.
30:38Five and a half there.
30:40That is a different spot to what I measured before.
30:42And that is five.
30:46Check the passenger side.
30:48Okay, we're six mil there.
30:49So we're not as good as McLaren anymore.
30:52And three and a half there.
30:56So I think we've done all right.
30:58I think we could go around checking this all day every day.
31:00But I think we can see instantly there's going to be some differences.
31:03McLaren themselves can't get it millimetre perfect.
31:05They're hand-assembled cars.
31:07I think we are passing this one.
31:11This one off as factory-ish gaps.
31:15Now the final thing to do with our one is get this car off to the body shop.
31:18We have a little bit of work to do because we want to try and smarten up areas like this.
31:24These sections here where we've got a little bit of a lip.
31:26There's going to be a bit of filler work.
31:27It is an aftermarket kit.
31:29It's not going to be a straight fit and finish.
31:31So now it's over to those guys to make sure they're happy with how that work's done.
31:35So they're happy to paint over it and class it as their own work.
31:38But I think we've proven ourselves as not doing too bad.
