00:00She's been in and out of parliament for 30 years, and now Janelle Saffron has been elevated
00:09to cabinet.
00:10I did canvass widely as to who should fill this position and it was near unanimous.

00:20The Lismore MP experienced the devastation of flooding first hand in 2022.
00:26It was clear the house was going to go under, so we looked at each other and said let's

00:31And after also helping steer the response to ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred this month,

00:46John Graham will stay on in transport, a portfolio he took on following the resignation of Joe
00:50Halen.
00:51He's already had to handle industrial action, delays to the airport metro and a crippling
00:56signal failure last week, but the biggest challenge could be yet to come.
01:00He's still working on an overhaul of Sydney's toll road network.
01:04It's a big responsibility, but we've taken two big portfolios off him, tourism and roads.
01:12Roads will go to Jenny Aitchison, while Steve Camper will take on jobs in tourism.
01:18The President returns tomorrow and the Premier's likely to face further scrutiny over his hate
01:22speech legislation, pushed through after a spate of anti-Semitic attacks and plots which
01:28have since been linked to organised crime.
01:31The Government's also facing a legal challenge to laws allowing police to move on protesters
01:36from places of worship.
01:37Hyde Park, Town Hall, right here outside the Supreme Court, all are near places of worship.
01:43We are not backing down, not one inch.
01:46And he says he's confident the laws will survive the challenge.
