Thousands of revellers gathered at a Hindu temple in India's northern Mathura city to play 'Huranga', where women tear men's clothes and beat them, as part of celebrations of the festival of colours-Holi.
At the Dauji Maharaj Temple, locals and foreign tourists were seen drenched in coloured water as they marked the celebrations with folk music, dance and powdered colours.
The focus of celebrations is on Balrama, the elder brother of Hindu God Lord Krishna. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Krishna played Holi with Balrama's wife on this day.
