00:30We are getting good signals outside of Russia as to where we are with Russia, and hopefully

00:36they'll do the right thing.

00:39As the shooting and dying continues, Russia's president seemed to say yes, but maybe no

00:44to that ceasefire.

00:45We certainly support it, Putin said, but there are issues we need to discuss, conditions

00:51of our own.

00:52Putin believes he has the upper hand on the battlefield, claiming to recapture key parts

00:57of Kursk, wrestling it back from Ukraine's control.

01:00Trump sent his top envoy, Steve Whitkoff, to Moscow to push the ceasefire deal Ukraine

01:06has signed on to.

01:08We've been discussing with Ukraine land and pieces of land that would be kept and lost

01:14and all of the other elements of a final agreement.

01:18Concepts of land, concepts of power plants, because it's complicated.

01:23You know, you have a whole, you're sort of creating the edge of a country.

01:30President Vladimir Zelensky accused Putin of wanting the war to drag on, and too afraid,

01:35Zelensky says, to tell President Trump directly.

01:39Engaging diplomatically as if Russia is a normal country is putting pressure on Russia.

01:44The president threatened sanctions the other day.

01:47He should implement those sanctions.

01:49President Trump says he has leverage but won't use it while negotiating with Putin, who says

01:53he plans to call the U.S. president directly.
