00:00But in the meantime, I will turn it over to another remarkable leader, our Field General
00:07and Talented Chair of the DPCC, Susan DelBene.
00:11What did I say?
00:14Oh, she, you know.
00:17We have a lot of acronyms.
00:18One of those.
00:21Good afternoon, everyone.
00:26Just a little over two months into their trifecta, House Republicans are well on their way to
00:33breaking the economy.
00:34Consumer confidence is evaporating.
00:37A new CNN poll today shows a majority of Americans disapprove of Trump's handling of the economy.
00:43A record-high stock market has lost all its gains since January, and prices continue to
00:49rise at the grocery store, the gas pump, and the pharmacy counter.
00:54Uncertainty was the number one issue for voters last election, but House Republicans have
00:59done nothing to lower prices.
01:03Promises were made.
01:04Promises are broken.
01:05Their tariffs will raise prices and create massive uncertainty for businesses, small
01:10and large.
01:11A small business owner in my district recently told me he's already losing business.
01:17He's not sure if he can be competitive price-wise going forward.
01:20Just the uncertainty alone of whether tariffs will be there or not has caused him to lose
01:26business.
01:27And what's more, the stop-and-start and chaotic nature of these tariffs continues to be extremely
01:33harmful.
01:34It's easy to lose business.
01:36It's hard to get it back.
01:38And House Republicans seem fine with this.
01:40They dismiss the damage they're causing as a little disturbance.
01:45But when a farmer can't buy the fertilizer they need during planting season right now
01:50or export their crops, that's not a little disturbance.
01:55It's incredibly harmful to their business.
01:58And Republicans promise to support our businesses, our farmers, and our workers.
02:02But with these tariffs, they're doing exactly the opposite.
02:06House Democrats and the American people are going to hold Republicans accountable for
02:10their broken promises.
02:12And we're already seeing across the country people standing up and speaking out against
02:17their dangerous agenda.
02:19The public is opposed to their cuts to Medicaid.
02:22They're opposed to the mass layoffs of firefighters, of inspectors in charge of combating bird flu,
02:30of veterans who are supporting veterans at the Veterans Administration.
02:36House Republicans know how unpopular their agenda is, which is why vulnerable House Republicans
02:41have stopped holding in-person town halls.
02:45They can try to hide all they want, but they can't hide from voters forever.
02:51The frustration and anger we're seeing across the country should send a loud message to
02:55House Republicans.
02:57People are ready for a change, and they're ready to help House Democrats take back the
03:02gavels.
