00:00Let's talk some NBA games on this Thursday as well. The
00:03Lakers have been struggling as of late seven point underdog on
00:07the road tonight in Milwaukee still no LeBron James expected
00:11in the lineup. The Bucks got beat at the buzzer on a four
00:14point play by Tyrese Halliburton just a few nights ago in
00:19Indianapolis. How competitive will tonight's game be inside
00:22the Pfizer forum?
00:24It's gonna be super competitive and it has me leaning to the
00:27under right from the jump. If the Lakers are going to win this
00:29game, it's not going to be turning it into a shootout when
00:32they don't have LeBron and a one game sample size, nothing
00:35that we want to draw from but the Lakers against their recent
00:39game against the Nets. They were at 98.1 possessions, which
00:42would put them at the sixth slowest in the league. Again,
00:44it's a one game sample size, but ultimately, they don't want to
00:47turn this into a shootout when they don't have LeBron. So they
00:49have to reel things in and limit the possessions on the other
00:52side when we know Milwaukee wants to bounce back. So it's
00:55the under in that game tonight.
00:58225 and a half is that total Vecchio two final plays for your
01:02top props on this Thursday. Last 40 seconds of this segment.
01:05Take us through it.
01:06Yeah, so Kate Cunningham has been awesome. He's consistently
01:09consistently pushing towards 30 points. He's actually nearly
01:12averaging a double double in the season. So I like the fact that
01:15he can go over the summer basically on points in one way
01:17that we've had four assists or more literally every single game
01:20this season. So I'll take Kate Cunningham over 35 and a half
01:23points plus assists. And then I like Braden point for a goal for
01:25Tampa there. They didn't write the ship tonight against Donnie's
01:27Flyers who Travis technically is in his day to day. So his goal
01:31odds are not there. And I like point to, you know, bounce back
01:34after a couple slow games from him. And they get the offense
01:37going against the Flyers tonight.
01:39A shorter five games slated around the NBA tonight. We'll
01:42dive through a few and then we'll get to college basketball
01:45to really start our CBB handicapping to end out the
01:48entirety of this third hour on the early line. The Lakers have
01:53dropped two in a row after that eight game win streak. And of
01:55course, do not have LeBron James entering tonight in Milwaukee
01:59against a Bucs team also hoping for a bounce back losing at the
02:03buzzer in Indianapolis because of a four point play from Tyrese
02:08Halliburton on Tuesday night. Milwaukee expected a bounce back
02:13DRS seven point spread in favor of the Bucs total 225 and a half
02:18can the Lakers play spoiler would be all Milwaukee in this
02:22Milwaukee matchup. I think Milwaukee does win the
02:25basketball game. But I think we're beyond the precipice of
02:28saying, okay, as least I'm going to get Luka Donchik in that
02:30lineup with some decent players around them. Yes, the Bucs will
02:34win. But we trusting the Bucs like if that line now currently
02:36which it is the fan those sports book up to seven points. What
02:39does that end up by the end of the day? So that means you're
02:41going to bet the Bucs at a minus 10 price when the Bucs again,
02:44just looking to bounce back into that tough loss they had where
02:46they should have picked up a victory. They win by four or
02:48five or six points. They don't care. So for me and understand
02:51the way that you know, JJ Redick is coaching. He doesn't
02:55want letdowns or that excuse to creep in. Well, hey, you know
02:58what, we really worked hard with LeBron James and Luka Donchik.
03:01But now that LeBron is going to be around, it's okay to lose
03:03four or five games in a row. That's not the case. So I'm
03:06going to say, you know what, go against the public trend of the
03:08line opening up here, New Jersey at Fandula five, now up to
03:11seven, give me the seven points of the Lakers. As long as Luke
03:14is healthy in that starting lineup. Why can't they at least
03:16hang around in this game within double digits to give you a
03:19chance at victory? I'm not laying it with the Bucs in it.
03:21I'll take it with the Lakers.
03:23Do we forget who Luka Donchik is single handedly bringing a
03:27Dallas Mavericks team basically to the postseason? I don't think
03:31single. What? What do you say?
03:33You see that lineup anticipated out there, Ben, tell me a little
03:36bit about it. Austin Reeves, Luka Donchik, Dalton Connect, Alex
03:40Len, Dorian Finney-Smith. Kind of impressive, man, by the way.
03:45It's kind of impressive.
03:46It is.
03:47Really is.
03:47A couple, a couple of Europeans, Dorian Finney-Smith, a great
03:51defender who played with Luka in Dallas.
03:54Nick, great German.
03:54And then of course, Austin Reeves and Dalton Connect, a
03:57couple of gym rats with high basketball IQ. And to Donnie's
04:00point, it's not like, oh, boo hoo, LeBron James isn't here. I
04:04guess Luka will have to do. We can lose three of our next
04:07five. The Lakers are still trying to hold on to home floor
04:10advantage, at least for the opening round of the
04:13postseason. On the eight game win streak, DRS, six days ago,
04:17two seed in the Western Conference. Memphis has won
04:21four straight. They're the two seed now in front of Denver,
04:25who's in front of LA. And the Lakers only a half game
04:28advantage over a Rockets team that has won four in a row. And
04:31a Golden State team that has won five in a row. And the T-Wolves
04:35surging as well. A lot of playoff positioning to be had. I
04:39agree with you. The Lakers stay within the number. They have not
04:42covered in their last two losses. I also agree with
04:45you. I think the under of 225 and a half makes a ton of sense.
04:49Lakers under a nine of 11 since the All-Star break, even their
04:52last game in Brooklyn, which pushed to the over, would have
04:55been under this number. Milwaukee under in three
04:58consecutive L's for the Bucs. And of course, big postseason
05:02positioning for Milwaukee in the fourth spot in the Eastern
05:06Conference, but identical record at this moment to Indiana.
05:10Let's go to Golden State. The Warriors have won five straight.
05:13The Warriors with Jimmy Butler look like look like a true
05:17playoff contender. California contest, the Northern California
05:21rivalry, Golden State seven point home favorite tonight, DRS
05:24against Sacramento. What do you like in this matchup in San
05:27Fran?
05:28This is the shame again, the NBA sometimes we handicap these
05:30games well ahead of the game starting open up at six and a
05:33half as a favorite here in New Jersey towards the Golden State
05:36Warriors at Fandul. It's up to seven right now. Some of the
05:38outlets are up to seven and a half. But look at the anticipated
05:40starting lineup tonight for the Sacramento Kings. Monk, Levine,
05:45the Rosenmary, the Montes Sabonis. Now, we don't know if
05:50he's playing or not, maybe anticipated to play. So I leave
05:53this here and it's hard to do right. If Sabonis is in, I'm
05:56taking the seven points at this point. If he's not, I'm still
06:00gonna take the seven points. So there, how about that? Let's
06:02just go ahead with the Kings. The added bonus of Sabonis back
06:06in is enough for the intrigue, even if he's not there talented
06:09enough to hang around the chicken coop. Give me the Kings.
06:13Maybe then Golden State is at least preparing for the idea of
06:17Doma being out there tonight for Sacramento. The Kings, by the
06:20way, have covered in seven of their last eight. They have
06:23covered in three of their prior four as an underdog. I think
06:26this game is competitive. Golden State, of course, with Jimmy
06:29Butler in the starting five has won 12 of 13. They have not
06:34covered though in their last three victories now riding a
06:37five game win streak. Golden State out of the play-in
06:41tournament. Minnesota hot on the Dubs heels. Winners of six in a
06:46row. Sacramento still a play-in tourney team as of this time.
