00:00The Carabao Cup final is coming up. Liverpool and Newcastle really want to turn around their
00:11fortunes in terms of returning a bit of silverware and winning this trophy. They lost in the
00:15final against Manchester United recently as well. In terms of Liverpool, it's a first
00:22chance at silverware. It's a first chance to really return Arnie Schlott's first bit
00:28of silverware. Yes, the league is probably heading towards Anfield now, but it is his
00:34first trophy in England. It would be a great bit of a feather in his cap. Liverpool haven't
00:39really had great success against Newcastle. A final's a final, but what can you see coming
00:44out of the day at Wembley? It could be a real reminder that Arnie Schlott's here and is
00:50here to stay, and it could be a great day for Liverpool.
00:52Yes, it's always good, isn't it, psychologically, to get that first win under your belt as well,
01:00that first trophy. As you say, it looks like the Premier League title is heading to Anfield,
01:05but Liverpool have won this competition more than any other club in the past. They've won
01:12it in 2022 and they're the defending champions. I think Liverpool fans, after some length
01:22of time between going to Wembley, really enjoy the trips going there now and they like winning
01:26this competition. They head there as favourites, you have to say. After the league results
01:35a couple of weeks ago, Liverpool were fairly comfortable in that game, albeit Newcastle
01:40were out, Alexander Isak is going to be back, but Newcastle are missing Anthony Gordon.
01:47That's a big blow, and Sven Bottman and Lewis Hall as well. Lewis Hall was excellent, I
01:52thought, actually, in the game against Liverpool a couple of weeks ago, Mark, and moved salaries
01:57really, really well, so that's a big blow for them. Liverpool will only have two back-up
02:04defenders in Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez, as things stand, out on the sidelines, so
02:09a lot of it is in Liverpool's favour, but Newcastle are a real energetic, potent team
02:19when they want to be. They've got some real quality and in the free-free draw at St James'
02:24Park earlier this season, I think we've seen the best of Newcastle in terms of going forward.
02:30He can cause problems, say, Alexander Isak. He seems to be someone who, further than Van
02:39Dijk, has a few problems, Mark, and he always seems to score a few goals, Isak, against
02:46Liverpool. It's like his Van Dijk troops are nice, and he'll cause bother. So, it's an
02:54interesting one, I think. I think every supporter would be surprised if he does go to penalties
03:00again or exit time. They've been used to experiencing that in recent finals, but it
03:08should be a good occasion, and a lot is stacking up in Liverpool's favour, but they've got
03:13a massive game against Paris Saint-Germain beforehand, and how much energy will that
03:17take out of Liverpool? Because we've seen in the 3-1 win against Southampton that that
03:21first game against PSG really, really took its toll, and a few of the players looked
03:27leggy, and Newcastle have got, what, six days between games. They've got plenty of
03:33time to recover and to put a game plan in place.
