00:00A Animal Welfare Advocate group has filed a complaint against a Chinese national

00:06who was attacked by a cat in Makati City.

00:10JM Pineda was at the center of the news.

00:15This post was received with a lot of reaction on social media

00:19by an Animal Welfare Advocate in Cara, Philippines.

00:22It was posted about the attack of a Chinese national

00:26in the community of Ayala Triangle Gardens.

00:28The cat was at home because of the attack of a foreigner

00:31who was also caught by CCTV.

00:33According to Cara, Philippines, the man was brought to the barangay

00:36but because there was no formal complaint,

00:38he could not be jailed.

00:40The Chinese national also said that he just wrote to the Chinese embassy

00:45and refused to give details of what he was pursuing.

00:50the group decided to file a case of animal abuse against the foreigner.

00:54Under the RA 8485 or Animal Welfare Act of 1998,

00:59any kind of abuse and cruelty to animals is prohibited

01:03just like what the Chinese national did.

01:06Prisoners are waiting for the people who will do this.

01:24They will file a case because of the cruelty to the animal.

01:33The group also explained that the situation is more alarming now

01:37because of the cruelty to animals in our own country.

01:41It is also a big thing that many people know

01:45the importance of respect for animals.

01:47It is also necessary to take action to reduce

01:50the animal abuse that is happening in the Philippines.

01:53We, the people, will speak up for the animals,

01:58especially if there is a case of animal abuse.

02:01They remind the public to be responsible individuals

02:05and to teach stray animals to their communities.

02:09It is important to have a program for them.

02:12We will apply the CNDR,

02:15which is Capture and Rehabilitation of Vaccinated Animals Program.

02:18It's a program that is very effective in managing

02:23community animals, or stray animals for others.

02:27Because if the program is implemented in the neighborhood,

02:30in the residential area,

02:33the animals will be monitored.
