00:00It was easier to ask for a solicitation permit issued by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD,
00:09through an online portal.

00:19The Department of Social Welfare and Development assured that the agency will continue to monitor
00:25public solicitations issued by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
00:31This is in line with the successful launch of the online portal HELPS this February 18,
00:38or the Harmonized Electronic License and Permit System,
00:42which will speed up the approval of regular permits within seven days.
00:48The DSWD Director of the Bureau of Standards, Megan Manahan,
00:54gave the permit to non-stock and non-profit organizations.
01:02We are checking if they have an existing record with us.
01:05So far, we've received 282 requests for creation of an account through DSWD HELPS.
01:11According to the DSWD, the agency has already submitted 53 documents
01:17to the organizations asking for a solicitation permit,
01:22including 28 Certificates of Registration and License to Operate,
01:276 Accreditations, and 17 Public Solicitation Permits.
01:32The agency is also warning individuals or organizations
01:36that are planning to temporarily collect donations
01:40because it is being monitored by an agency that should be given to legitimate beneficiaries.
01:46We have requirements that are being submitted.
01:49After two months, they listed the list of donors, beneficiaries, and the utilization of funds.
01:55The DSWD also reminded the public
01:58not to simply believe those who ask for donations online
02:03by verifying if the organization is real so that it won't be victimized by scams.
