00:00A teacher in Las Piñas said that he was being tortured by his own teacher inside the school.

00:08According to the suspect who was drunk during the crime, he did it because he was jealous.

00:14EJ Gomez has the first news.

00:21There was a commotion inside a public school in Barangay Almanza 2, Las Piñas City this Monday morning.

00:28There's a student.

00:34Teacher.

00:36Teacher.

00:41The 51-year-old teacher was helped by the people of the school after he was being tortured inside their faculty room.

00:49The suspect is the victim's wife.

00:52Two students reported to us that a student was being tortured.

00:56We notified the school.

00:59That's when we found out that he was a teacher.

01:02According to the suspect, he even entered and exited the gate of the school

01:06before torturing his wife, the teacher.

01:12The suspect said that he went to the school to talk to his wife.

01:16I was drunk early in the morning.

01:19Based on the investigation by the police, there's a guard at the school.

01:24Because the suspect is his wife, and usually he's seen in the area,

01:30the guard became suspicious and assumed that he has bad intentions.

01:37Around 8.40 or 8.45, after the recess, the victim returned to the faculty where he was tortured by the suspect.

01:47That's when he started attacking.

01:49He was tortured by three teachers and one guard.

01:52The victim was tortured 37 times in different parts of the body.

01:58He was admitted to the hospital but was declared a dead-on arrival.

02:02After the torture, the suspect ran away.

02:05He was caught on CCTV while walking in a corner near the school.

02:09The CCTV footage of the barangay also showed the man walking around.

02:14Some residents also chased the two teachers.

02:18One van also attacked the suspect who was armed with a gun to stop him from running away.

02:24The suspect continued to walk on the next street.

02:28Until more and more residents chased him.

02:31The barangay guards followed him and the suspect was arrested.

02:35We saw blood on his feet and on his hands.

02:40His clothes were stained with blood.

02:43His knife was stuck in his throat.

02:45The suspect said that if he was arrested, he would be killed and he would not be punished.

02:51Jealousy was the root of the crime.

02:54He said that he was jealous.

02:57He said that there was another man in this house.

03:04On May 26, 2024, I caught my wife with another man in our house.

03:16That's also the reason why they separated.

03:20The 38-year-old suspect said that he would only talk to his wife.

03:25He said that she went home because she didn't understand him.

03:28When she turned her back on me, that's when I got angry.

03:32I was drunk and I had marijuana.

03:38The suspect will face a case of parricide.

03:41He refused to give a statement about the victim's family.

03:44We are still trying to get a statement from the head of the school where the incident took place.
