Johor police have successfully dismantled two separate drug syndicates operating out of secured apartment complexes in Johor Baru, confiscating narcotics valued at almost RM7 million.

00:14The operations, conducted last Tuesday, resulted in the arrest of seven individuals, including
00:19a teenage school dropout.
00:23Johor Police Chief Commissioner Datuk M Kumar said the first raid took place in Bandar Seri
00:29Alam, where authorities apprehended two men and a Vietnamese woman.
00:34The syndicate had been using a rented apartment unit as a base to store and repackage drugs
00:39for distribution.
00:41The operation yielded 9.3 kilograms of ecstasy, ketamine, and aramin-5 in both powder and
00:48pill forms, with an estimated value of 1.59 million ringgit.
00:54The second operation led to the arrest of four suspects, including a woman and a 17-year-old
01:08boy who was allegedly working as a runner for the syndicate.
01:13This raid resulted in the seizure of drugs worth 5.38 million ringgit, including 32 kilograms
01:19of ecstasy powder.
01:21While the two syndicates were not connected, they employed similar methods, combining different
01:26substances into individual sachets to create drug cocktails for sale.
01:33All seven suspects have been remanded until Wednesday to assist with investigations under
01:38Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952, which pertains to drug trafficking.
