00:00Thousands of women in Iligan City united in celebrating National Women's Month

00:05through a colorful Purple Foot Parade.

00:09They called for the end of abuse against women.

00:12Shariff Tim Harna, Radyo Pilipinas, Iligan, for Banitang Pambansa.

00:19The role of women in society was once again touched.

00:22In the theme of women in all sectors, tomorrow will be a new day in the new Philippines.

00:26A colorful parade was held in Iligan City

00:30where women from different tribes and sectors of society also came.

00:35One of the participants was Ms. Gloria de Maucor,

00:38who bravely called on women to stand up and fight against abuse.

00:44Many women are being abused, and they don't know what to do.

00:49They should stand up and face the law.

00:54Open your eyes and use your brains, strength, and thoughts.

01:00Speak up. Don't be afraid of anyone. Let's fight.

01:05According to reports, almost 200 cases of abuse against women,

01:10such as physical abuse and rape, were registered in the city in 2024.

01:14Ms. Universe Asia 2024 Chelsea Ann Manalo also gave

01:19the importance of continuing advocacy for the rights of women.

01:23Women's empowerment and Women's Month celebration here in Iligan,

01:26it will always be an advocacy of women, specifically if you're a beauty queen.

01:32It's not just focused on women itself.

01:35You have a horizon of where you can go to.

01:38So throughout memory and even after that,

01:41I will always continue to support women.

01:43In the ongoing celebration of National Women's Month,

01:46the voices and unity of women remain important

01:50to fight any type of abuse and discrimination in the new Philippines.
