00:00In order to reduce the price of pork meat in the family, the maximum suggested retail price for pork will be implemented starting on Monday,

00:09according to the Department of Agriculture.

00:11PNP and TTI will help in monitoring the implementation of this.

00:20The Department of Agriculture has already issued a notice for the maximum suggested retail price of pork meat to be determined.

00:27Based on the help of the DA, the head of the Department, Secretary Francisco T. Laurel Jr., and stakeholders, the price of pork will be determined.

00:36Pesos per kilo of pork shoulder or kasim is P350, while pork belly or liempo is P380.

00:44This will be effective starting on March 10 in Metro Manila.

00:47This will start on Monday and there will be a periodic review and it will start after a month that the MSRP will be established on Monday.

01:00TTI and PNP will work together in the markets to see compliance starting next year.

01:09Stakeholders are in favor of the MSRP of pork for the reduction of the price of pork in the market.

01:15The assumption there is that everyone is happy with the price.

01:18So from farmgate to travelers, traders, retailers, the P380 in pork belly, P350 in pork shoulder,

01:27everyone is happy with the price because none of the sectors are cutting.

01:33Another thing that lowers the price of pork is the price of farmgate.

01:37From the previous P250 average, now it's just P230.

01:42P100 to P120 is enough in the profit margin between pork traders and retailers.

01:48P300 per kilo will also be implemented for pork shoulder or the price from traders to retailers.

01:56According to the Ministry of Agriculture, pork MSRP implementation is only in Metro Manila,

02:02but the cost structure in other regions is also being studied so that the MSRP can be issued here.
