00:00Welcome to Medihan TV and Bande dessinée in this chroniculture and in particular the
00:13release of the new issue of the Bande dessinée Rallye à Troyes, from here and elsewhere,
00:18which was presented in Rabat as part of an initiative aimed at strengthening the links
00:23between young people in Morocco and its diaspora by establishing the 9th art as a vector of
00:27expression and cultural sharing. This project, initiated by the Hiba Foundation, the Council
00:32of the Moroccan Community Abroad, the CCME, and the Elmada Foundation, in the form of
00:37a magazine of comics, paper, and through an artistic exhibition, brought together ten
00:41young talents from Morocco, France and Belgium, during an artistic residence around the notion
00:47of the link in all its forms, including the roots, the transmission, the collective memory,
00:52the family, the friendship, and the otherness. On this occasion, Driss Eliazamy, president of the CCME,
00:57stressed that the Rallye à Troyes project, from here and elsewhere, highlights both the
01:02creative capacities of the members of the Moroccan diaspora and the strength of their attachment to
01:06their motherland. Since its launch, 20 artists have taken part in this initiative, giving birth
01:11to two albums, Znka La Rue, in 2022, and Khatar El Maut, The Danger of Death, in 2023.
01:19I invite you to listen to the artist Mariems Fiui, who is a participant in this edition of the Rallye à Troyes program, from here and elsewhere.
01:27I live in Angoulême, France, but I was born and grew up in Morocco.
01:32My comic strip, in the context of the Rallye à Troyes residence, consists of imagining my relationship to childhood,
01:41to mourning, to the acceptance of the passing of time, and I wanted to try to dig into this relationship,
01:49to this suffering, and how to try to overcome it. So it's more of a comic strip, a little poetic,
01:58where I invite people to travel through my memories, and also my relationship to space today,
02:04the places that are full of history, the relationship to family, the loss of the people we love,
02:11and how their memories remain through the places we occupy.
02:15For me, it's a great opportunity, because since I no longer live here, I don't really have the opportunity to show my work in Morocco.
02:23So I was very happy to be part of this residence, and to be able to create a bridge between what I have had as an experience in France
02:34and also to meet artists from here. We don't really have the opportunity to meet each other, to get to know each other,
02:40and so it was very enriching to live and to draw connections with other Moroccan artists,
02:48whether they are people living in Morocco or abroad.
02:52And music now, and Célive Keïta, the Malian poet, who rekindles with its roots in this first acoustic album,
03:01a magnificent poem, in which he reveals his love for Tassi.
03:05For nearly 50 years of his career, the golden voice of Africa had always refused to play an acoustic album,
03:13declaring, I am not a guitarist, I use the guitar to compose, and it is too beautiful to interest the public.
03:19Célive Keïta shared the title Canté Manfila, in tribute to the Guinean musician,
03:24Canté Manfila, who died in 2011, and who was for the artist a mentor and a friend.
03:30They left together in exile in Abidjan before recording the unforgettable title.
03:34Manjou, I suggest you listen to this excerpt.
