00:00The government is doing its best to create opportunities and jobs for Filipinos.
00:06For example, more than 2,000 job vacancies were opened in Clark Development Corporation
00:12while the Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program was strengthened
00:18to increase the employability of Filipinos.
00:21Kristel Insinia of IBC 13 has the country's latest news.
00:26The government is continuing to make progress to improve the results of the effort
00:33to increase the number of Filipinos with jobs and increase the public awareness.
00:37Just the other day, Malacanang and Clark Development Corporation reported
00:43that there was a job opening in the company where 2,000 job vacancies were opened
00:50for the ICT industry, business process outsourcing, industrial industry,
00:55including service industries such as bus drivers, tourism and hospitality industry.
01:03Of course, first of all, we really need to have a lot of investors.
01:08Why? It will generate income, it will allow Filipinos to be employed.
01:13In general, what we can say is that we are doing our best,
01:16especially to train Filipino workers so that they can be more competitive here or abroad.
01:25Not only that, because the Republic Act No. 12124
01:30or the Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program
01:34will not only help in improving the quality of education in the country.
01:39The Commission on Higher Education provides the ability to obtain an equivalent college degree
01:45to Filipino workers who were not able to obtain a degree
01:49based on their ability not to have to go through traditional education.
01:54Currently, the government is studying the K-12 curriculum.
01:59The rationale is to really increase the knowledge of the students
02:04so that they will have an opportunity to work even if they are not college graduates.
02:10There may also be a law that requires private companies
02:17to hire K-12 graduates as mandatory.
02:23At present, only prerogative or voluntary companies hire K-12 graduates.
02:30So if there will be a law, it will also increase the knowledge of the students
02:36so that they will have good results.
02:39From IBC 13, Krizel Insigne, for Balitang Pambansa.
