00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday led the distribution of cash gifts to elderly
00:05beneficiaries under the Expanded Centenarians Act of 2024 or Republic Act number 11982.
00:12During the inaugural distribution in Malacanang, 14 beneficiaries received financial assistance
00:18including six individuals aged 80 to 85 and five who were 90 years old with each receiving 10,000
00:25pesos. Centenarians were given a hundred thousand pesos each. The chief executive
00:30underscored that the initiative honors the contributions of senior citizens and the role
00:35as mentors of society. The president also highlighted existing benefits for the elderly
00:41such as discounts on utilities, medicines, and essential goods. They are our supporters.
00:49They are the ones who brought us into and to understand how to deal with the world
00:56and how to deal with life and for that we will all be eternally grateful.
