00:04constitutional reform that would recognize the US dollar as a nation
00:08national currency. The Legislative Board of Directors unanimously approved a
00:13resolution presented by the National Assembly which consists in the creation
00:17of an occasional commission to address dollarization. According to the
00:21legislature, the reform seeks to strengthen the dollar in the country
00:25after its recognition as a national currency. The parliamentary body pointed
00:29out that the initiative represents a step towards the consolidation of the
00:33national economy and protection of Ecuadorian families through monetary
00:37stability.
