00:00Can I just ask you for your reaction to that game, because at half-time you were down 3-0?
00:22No, we just played 1.5 and we managed to draw the game. We didn't exist in the first half.
00:30Everything we did during the week. I think the free man was there. I think the space was there.
00:36I think we lost balls that we cannot lose. And then the second half, in the half-time I said that
00:41we are going, no matter what the result, we are going to do what we did during the week,
00:45but with a little bit more energy. I think you saw that it was not different in the position,
00:52it was different in the quality that we played the game.
00:54How do we know that it took too much time to get that situation?
00:58Not to worry about that. I know that every game has a history. So in that moment I just focused
01:06on trying to help my players. Now I'm going to be worried when I see the games and try to
01:11prepare for the next game. But at half-time we just focus on trying to help the team.
01:16What did you think of the penalty shot at the end?
01:18I think what I saw, I didn't see quite well, was a little bit soft touch when we are in England.
01:28So you guys enjoy a lot the physicality of the game, I think it was soft.
01:32I think it was clear to overturn the decision.
01:35Did you fear the worst of it?
01:41In that moment you just try to imagine that if it's a penalty,
01:45let's go for the second ball, anything can happen, we cannot give up. So in that moment
01:50I'm just focused on trying to understand what is going to happen. But of course,
01:54after the recovery, if there was a penalty, it was tough on us.
02:02You mentioned what you said at half-time, I think Bruno said the same.
02:09How do you explain what happened in that first half and what did you actually say
02:13in that moment at half-time to try and generate a response?
02:16I see what players saw and they know and what people see. We lost a lot of balls without any
02:22pressure. We have three men, sometimes we don't respect the positioning. And then we talk about
02:33anyone that watches a little bit of Everton in this field, they know they will be really
02:39good on second balls. And the two goals are second balls, are fighting the air.
02:43So that's why you get disappointed. We didn't play the first half. But then it's a good thing,
02:50let's not just focus on the negatives. The good thing is that in the second half,
02:54they play in the same position, but with more energy, more quality. And that makes the difference.
03:05Did you feel that Bruno should really turn the game around on his own?
03:09And did you see any signs that the comeback was coming before the first half?
03:13Of course, I felt in the second half, the way we started the game, we were different.
03:21We won second balls, we pushed the opponent, we didn't let Beto control the ball alone.
03:26These small things I felt before. And then Bruno scored a free kick and then we were a better team.
03:36Hi, Ruben. Garnaccio was the only change from the team last week,
03:39he looked quite disappointed when he came in to the stadium.
03:42Is it a unification of his own success as a substitute that can affect James coming on?
03:54There are some games that are different and we want different things in the same position. So
03:59that's all. Garnaccio will be ready for the next game and it's a good thing to be disappointed. But
04:06like I said, we have a lot of games. In modern football, you don't have a starting eleven. It's
04:11really hard, especially now. So we have a squad that we have to rotate the players. And I imagine
04:17the game and then I imagine the characteristics of the players to try to win the game. And today,
04:22the game, I think I thought the game in a different way to have Garnaccio on the bench
04:28to change something.
04:49If you see the first plays, we lose some passes and some plays and we lose the ball and we have
04:57transitions against us. When we are alone in these small things, then take us the confidence
05:03to play. And then in the second half, we start the game in a different way, controlling the game,
05:07pushing the opponent and then the team feels a little bit more confident. Maybe because they
05:13have nothing to lose. I don't know. But we need to perform in a better way, especially in the first
05:19half. We didn't exist in the first half.
05:28The fans of Everton are amazing. They are in a good moment. I think it is well deserved that
05:48David Moyes is the coach that is going to start in the next stadium. I think it's really good.
05:55But for me, in this moment, every stadium is really difficult, especially ours with our
06:01fans supporting all the time. So my goal is just to win the next game to give some
06:07happiness to our fans because they deserve it a lot.
