00:00A businessman with the title Datto was defrauded of 26.6 million ringgit after being misled

00:07by a cryptocurrency investment scam on the UVKXE app.

00:12Bukit Amant Commercial Crime Investigation Department Director Ramli Yusuf said the man

00:16filed a police report on Thursday and that investigations were ongoing, Sinar Harian

00:21reported.

00:23The victim found the investment scheme through a Google search and was added to a WhatsApp

00:28group where he was introduced to an individual who called himself Professor Stanley Lim.

00:34Lured by promises of high returns, he downloaded the UVKXE app and transferred 26.6 million

00:40ringgit to nine bank accounts between October 17 and December 24 last year, Ramli said.

00:47He said that in January, the victim's accounts showed he had earned 269.247 million USDT,

00:54but when he attempted to withdraw, he was told to pay an additional 5.56 million ringgit

00:58in taxes.

01:00Ramli said five bank accounts in this case were linked to 38 other fraud cases, and a

01:05total of 46 police reports have been filed with losses reaching 61.4 million ringgit.
