00:00Two Year 11 students from Gladstone Park Secondary College have been suspended after several deep
00:07fake images of female students were circulated online.
00:11Police say these images were taken from a school formal and digitally altered to become
00:15sexually explicit.
00:17They say it's unclear at this stage just how many of these images were manipulated and
00:20posted online and what platforms they've ended up on.
00:24They also say it's unclear at this stage just how many students are allegedly involved besides
00:28the two students who have already been suspended, but they say they've been given a list of
00:32names by the school.
00:34Today Detective Sergeant Simon Garner described the circulation of these images as a very
00:38serious offence and he said officers will be working to discover the motivations behind
00:43those responsible.
00:44I find it quite disturbing, quite despicable.
00:48The images are quite vulgar.
00:49I don't think anyone, whether they be children, whether they be adults, whether they be anybody,
00:54no one likes to have their images taken and manipulated in such a way like this.
00:58It's hard to believe that these kind of platforms are out there where they can actually do these
01:03kind of situations where they get these images and change them the way they do.
01:07Today the Education Department put out a statement saying misogynistic and disrespectful behaviour
01:12was inappropriate at any Victorian school.
01:15It's also been described as appalling by the Victorian Premier, Jacinta Allen.
01:19Now police have yet to interview the suspended students and they've asked anyone who may
01:23be involved to come forward.
