00:00Former Presidential Communication Office, or PCO, Cesar Chavez has resigned as acting
00:06secretary of the PCO.
00:09In his statement, he submitted his irrevocable resignation in February 5, effective at the
00:14end of the month.
00:16As he steps down from his position, one of his regrets is that he was unable to fully
00:21meet the expectations set for him.
00:25As a former journalist, Chavez emphasized the need to reveal the true reason for his
00:31resignation.
00:32He stressed that since he started serving the administration, he has always strived
00:38to perform to the best of his abilities.
00:41Now, he said he is leaving with enthusiasm, gratitude and hope for a brighter future for
00:48the country.
00:49However, the former PCO chief said he will continue to support the current administration
00:55as he pursues public service outside the government.
00:59He also thanked the president for the opportunity to serve, calling it a lifetime honor made
01:05possible by the trust given to him by the chief executive.
01:09Although Malacanang has not yet confirmed it, Chavez said he has spoken to veteran journalist
01:15Jade Ruiz and informed him that he will introduce him to the PCO Mancom on Monday to begin the
01:21transition as the new PCO's secretary.
