00:00The turnover of NFA rice has already started in some local governments through Food Terminal Incorporated.

00:07The Agriculture Department of Cominec has also asked the LGUs to apply for an exemption in the sale of NFA rice.

00:21The Department of Agriculture has already turned over rice to some local government units

00:26of the National Food Authority through Food Terminal Incorporated.

00:30Aside from food security, it also aims to expand the NFA warehouses

00:35to provide access for the local farmers.

00:39These are the bags of NFA rice that were released to the local government units

00:45showing their interest in obtaining NFA rice

00:48in accordance with the declaration of the National Food Security Emergency on rice.

00:52At present, 67 LGUs have already reached an agreement with the FDI to become NFA rice distributors.

00:59The initial withdrawal of NFA rice from the warehouse in Valenzuela was 1,000 sacks.

01:03NFA rice will be sold for P33 per kilo to LGUs

01:08while it can be sold to LGUs, government agencies, and GOCCs in Mami Mili for P35 per kilo.

01:15The local government of San Juan City and Camarines Sur decided

01:19that they will no longer allocate P2 for the cost of logistics.

01:24That is why they will continue to allocate P3 for the rice they will sell to the public.

01:28The NFA rice will be rolled out to the said LGUs.

01:32The DA will allow the reselling of NFA rice

01:35but it should be allocated for P2 per kilo from P33.

01:40The LGUs will issue guidelines for this.

01:43The target is to sell 150 metric tons of NFA rice to the DA within six months.

01:48Aside from this, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

01:52has set up a large fund to buy rice from local farmers.

01:55We have agreed with the NFA Council that we will buy rice this year, 2025,

02:01for a minimum of P23 per kilo and it can reach P30 per kilo depending on the market.

02:08Our beloved President Bongbong Marcos has also set aside P9 billion

02:14to buy rice from our farmers.

02:19This is an additional fund since last year.

02:22The campaign period in March for the upcoming election is already in place.

02:25The DA is already coordinating with Comelec

02:28so that the LGUs of Comelec Exemption can apply for the sale of NFA rice.

02:33The Metro Manila Council and Camarines Sur LGU

02:36assured that they will not use cheap NFA rice for politics.

02:41Meanwhile, DA Secretary Francisco Chula-Aurel, Jr. clarified

02:45that the NFA rice was only an isolated case

02:47that was seen in the Kadiwa store in Quezon City.

02:49The selling was halted because the next day,

02:52we saw a small amount of rice, right?

02:54But then we did not know, we investigated

02:57why the sale was continued when it was actually stopped.

03:02The DA will be more strict in monitoring the rice being sold
