The United States and Russia on Tuesday agreed to form teams to negotiate a path towards ending the war in Ukraine. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced they would each appoint high-level teams to start working on a resolution to the conflict as soon as possible. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump indicated that he would "probably" meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin before the end of February. Trump also criticised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, suggesting he was partly responsible for Russia's invasion, and took aim at Zelensky’s complaints about being left out of the talks in Saudi Arabia. French President Macron stated he would host another round of discussions on Wednesday involving both European and non-European nations.
