00:00Over the years, I have textured a lot of blocks for my resource pack.
00:03But there are a couple blocks that truly scare me to my core.
00:06Those of course being the blocks with animated textures.
00:09But that ends today as I'll be tackling my first animated block, the fire.
00:13Fire in Minecraft actually has two textures, each with 32 frames.
00:17So not really sure where to start, I kind of just went through them
00:19and sort of traced it to get an idea of the shape.
00:22Going back over that and cleaning it up,
00:24ending up with this solid color version of the texture.
00:27Now, most textures in Minecraft stick to a pretty limited palette.
00:30They'll use a couple colors.
00:32And seeing as my pack is meant to be as accurate to vanilla as possible,
00:35I'll usually stick directly to those colors.
00:37But every once in a while,
00:38there'll be a texture that uses like a million colors for some reason,
00:41and fire is one of those textures.
00:43So rather than spend an eternity working on this,
00:46I started by manually going in and adding two different shades.
00:48I went and like flipped the texture and reversed it
00:51and created a couple different layers to eventually create a couple more shades,
00:55which led us to this final product.
00:56And then of course, I did a quick recolor for the soul fire,
00:59but let me know what you guys think.
