00:00Michigan State still in the hunt for a Big Ten regular season
00:03championship as is Purdue, but Michigan at the top. John, how
00:08about this for a week in the Big Ten? This game tonight between
00:11MSU and Purdue. The Spartans 11-3, the Boilers 11-4 in Big
00:16Ten play. And then Friday night in Ann Arbor, it's Michigan at
00:2012-2 hosting their in-state rivals in Michigan State. When
00:25all is said and done, at the end of this regular season, John,
00:29who wins a Big Ten regular season crown?
00:31You know, I think it's Michigan. And I think we can start to say
00:34right now that when you look at the makeup of this conference,
00:38if we're looking at a Big Ten coach of the year race, I think
00:42I would say Dusty May won Greg Gard number two. And you look at
00:46the two dynamics in which those head coaches took over. Dusty
00:49May takes the Michigan job off a team that wins eight games under
00:53Jawan Howard, builds a completely different roster, and
00:56now has Michigan in position to be in position to win a Big Ten
00:59regular season title. What about Greg Gard, meanwhile, whose team
01:03will host Illinois tonight in Madison? Greg Gard loses Chucky
01:06Epper in the Louisville, loses A.J. Storer to Kansas. And I
01:10remember that was a Wisconsin team that was a five seed in the
01:13NCAA tournament, and the Badgers are significantly better. So
01:17those two coaches, to me, at the top of the Big Ten coach of the
01:21year race, Kevin Willard from Maryland, Mick Cronin of UCLA,
01:25not far behind.
